Job summary

Adani Power in India seeks an experienced Electrical Project Leader to drive end-to-end electrical works for greenfield and brownfield power projects. You will oversee erection, testing, and commissioning of all electrical systems according to approved drawings and specifications, ensuring milestones are met with cost, quality, and safety in focus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/B.Tech in Electrical engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in electrical project execution or management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of electrical works for Greenfield/Brownfield Thermal Power Projects.
• Manage erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of all electrical systems as per drawings and project specs.
• Ensure timely completion of milestones while maintaining cost, quality, and safety objectives.
• Monitor construction progress and initiate corrective measures to mitigate schedule delays.
• Supervise installation of GT, UAT, SST, HT/LT switchgear, MCC/PCC panels, bus ducts, UPS & Battery Charger, DG systems, and EBoP.
• Oversee switchyard/ AIS/GIS erection and commissioning, including breakers, CT/PTs, isolators, arresters, protection & metering systems.
• Coordinate with OEMs/vendors for technical support and commissioning activities.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance and safety policies across sites.

Responsibilities

Electrical Project Execution

Construction & Erection Management

• Supervise installation of:
  • Generator Transformers (GT)
  • Unit Auxiliary Transformers (UAT)
  • Station Service Transformers (SST)
  • HT/LT Switchgear
  • MCC/PCC Panels
  • Bus Duct Systems
  • UPS & Battery Charger Systems
  • DG Systems
  • Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP)
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality requirements during execution.

Testing & Commissioning

• Lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of electrical systems and equipment.
• Coordinate startup, synchronization, reliability runs, and unit commissioning activities.
• Resolve technical issues during commissioning in coordination with OEMs and engineering teams.
• Ensure completion of punch points and commissioning protocols.

Switchyard & Power Evacuation Systems

• Oversee erection and commissioning of AIS/GIS Switchyards.
• Manage installation and testing of:
  • Circuit Breakers
  • CT/PTs
  • Isolators
  • Lightning Arresters
  • Protection & Metering Systems
• Ensure readiness of power evacuation systems for grid connectivity and synchronization.

Contractor & Vendor Management

• Manage multiple contractors and subcontractors engaged in project execution.
• Review contractor productivity, quality, safety performance, and progress.
• Verify work completion certificates, measurement sheets, and bill certification.
• Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical support and commissioning activities.

Project Planning & Monitoring

• Review project schedules and resource deployment plans.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Mechanical, Civil, C&I, Planning, and QA/QC teams.
• Monitor project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure achievement of project milestones within approved timelines and budgets.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Ensure implementation of EHS policies and statutory compliance.
• Conduct safety reviews, audits, and site inspections.
• Promote a zero-harm work culture across project sites.
• Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures and inspection plans.
