Job summary

Agristo Masa is seeking an Associate Manager - Automation to ensure reliable operation, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvements of plant automation systems. You will hands-on with PLC programming and SCADA, diagnose faults, and implement software/control modifications aligned with global automation standards.

The role focuses on PLC/SCADA troubleshooting, plant support, and reliability improvements while coordinating with OEMs and the Global Automation team to implement significant changes

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, remote I/O, and control-system faults and restore operation safely.
• Develop, modify and debug PLC programs using ST and other languages.
• Configure and troubleshoot SCADA/HMI applications including alarms and trends.
• Diagnose industrial networks and protocols (EtherCAT, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus, OPC UA).
• Implement PLC/SCADA changes for reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Support commissioning and stabilization; review control philosophy and FAT/SAT checks.
• Collaborate with OEMs and system integrators on software issues and punch-list closure.
• Maintain backups, editable source code and documentation for handover.

Associate Manager - Automation

Responsible for reliable operation, troubleshooting and improvement of plant automation systems. The role requires a hands-on automation engineer with strong PLC programming and SCADA skills, capable of independently diagnosing faults, restoring systems and implementing software/control modifications.

The role will work in line with Agristos global automation architecture, standards and principles, with significant technical changes and system developments aligned with the Global Automation team.

The primary focus of the role is PLC/SCADA troubleshooting, plant support, automation modifications and reliability improvement.

PLC, SCADA & Automation Support, Commissioning & Handover

• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, remote I/O, industrial communication and control-system faults and restore operation safely.
• Develop, modify and debug PLC programs using Structured Text (ST) and other applicable PLC languages, covering sequences, interlocks, permissives, alarms, trips, control loops and start-up/shutdown logic.
• Configure and troubleshoot SCADA/HMI applications including tags, screens, alarms, trends/historian and communication interfaces.
• Diagnose industrial networks and protocols including EtherCAT, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus TCP/RTU, Industrial Ethernet and OPC UA.
• Implement PLC/SCADA modifications and control improvements for reliability, process stability, performance and maintainability; perform RCA on recurring automation failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Follow the approved MOC process for significant automation changes, including backup, testing, validation and documentation.
• Support automation commissioning and stabilization; review control philosophy, sequences, I/O, alarms, interlocks and permissives, and execute/support FAT, SAT, I/O checks, communication tests, sequence testing and production trials.
• Work with OEMs and system integrators on software issues, modifications, commissioning and automation punch-list closure.
• Maintain validated PLC/SCADA backups, editable source code and software revisions, and ensure handover of tested backups, licenses, as-built documentation, manuals and recovery information.

Global Automation Alignment as & When Required

• Follow Agristos global automation architecture, standards and technical principles.
• Align significant architecture/software changes and key technical decisions with the Global Automation team.
• Periodically report local automation-system status, reliability, major issues, modifications and improvement needs.
• Share recurring problems, technical learnings and improvement opportunities with the Global Automation team and other sites.

OT/IT Interface

• Responsible for the industrial control-system scope, including PLC/controller communication, industrial protocols, remote I/O, HMI, SCADA and automation-system interfaces.
• Work closely with the IT team for OT/IT interfaces and infrastructure requirements.
• Network infrastructure, firewalls, servers, patching, antivirus and cybersecurity monitoring remain primarily IT responsibilities, with Automation providing the necessary industrial-control-system requirements and technical coordination.
• Support IT in troubleshooting issues where network or infrastructure problems affect PLC, SCADA or other industrial control systems.
• Follow applicable company requirements for secure remote access, user access, system backups and cybersecurity.

Automation Reliability & Knowledge Development

• Monitor recurring automation failures and drive permanent corrective actions.
• Maintain recovery readiness for critical automation systems.
