The Role & Key Responsibilities

As an Associate Lawyer at DS Legal, you will play an integral role in handling core trademark prosecution matters and drafting critical business contracts. You will be expected to work independently, manage cases end-to-end, and engage directly with regulatory authorities and clients.

• Trademark Prosecution & Search: Conduct comprehensive trademark availability searches, handle initial filings, and manage prosecution strategies efficiently.
• Dispute Resolution & Oppositions: Draft, file, and manage trademark oppositions, counter-statements, and related legal notices.
• Regulatory Representation: Appear before or effectively coordinate with the Trade Marks Registry on client matters.
• Commercial Contracting: Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide spectrum of commercial agreements and contracts.
• Legal Research & Strategy: Conduct deep-dive legal research to support strategic advising and risk mitigation for clients.
• Matter Management: Take complete ownership of assigned portfolios and ensure timely delivery with meticulous attention to detail.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Approximately 2 years of relevant, hands-on legal experience in Trademark Law and Commercial Contracts.
• Key Competencies: Proven track record in handling trademark prosecution, drafting oppositions, and executing commercial contracts.
• Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with strong drafting capabilities.
• Work Ethic: Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing deliverables independently.
• Joining Availability: Preferred joining by October 2026. Immediate or short-notice joiners will be strongly preferred.
