Role Summary
The Associate Information Manager - BIM (Structures) is responsible for leading BIM delivery, digital coordination, information management best practices, and capability development across the Structures business within GCC (India).
Responsibilities
BIM & Information Management Leadership
- Act as the BIM and Information Management lead for the Structures business within GCC.
- Support the implementation of the Middle East BIM strategy, digital delivery objectives, and information management standards.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support for BIM activities across structural engineering projects.
- Promote the consistent application of ISO 19650 principles, BIM standards, workflows, and best practices.
- Act as the primary point of contact for structure-related BIM and information management queries within GCC.
- Support the Department Head of BIM – Middle East with continuous improvement initiatives, BIM standards development, and implementation of digital delivery processes.
Project Delivery & Multi-Disciplinary Coordination
- Lead BIM delivery activities on multidisciplinary projects supporting Middle East project teams.
- Support the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Information Delivery Plans (IDPs), and project-specific BIM workflows.
- Lead and support project mobilisation activities and BIM setup requirements.
- Ensure structural BIM deliverables are coordinated effectively with Architecture, MEP, Infrastructure, and specialist disciplines.
- Facilitate model coordination reviews, clash detection workshops, and issue resolution workflows.
- Support project teams throughout all project stages from concept through detailed design and project close-out.
- Monitor BIM deliverables, project performance, and compliance with project requirements and delivery milestones.
Information Management
- Support the implementation of ISO 19650-aligned information management processes across GCC project teams.
- Ensure project teams understand information requirements, delivery milestones, and data quality expectations.
- Promote best practices in information production, review, approval, and exchange processes.
- Support compliance with Exchange Information Requirements (EIR), Asset Information Requirements (AIR), and project-specific information requirements.
- Provide guidance on Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows, information governance, and document management procedures.
Technical Expertise
- Provide technical leadership for Structural BIM modelling, coordination, and digital delivery workflows.
- Maintain expert-level proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, Autodesk Forma, and associated BIM technologies.
- Support the development and maintenance of BIM templates, libraries, families, automation routines, and delivery standards.
- Ensure interoperability between BIM models, structural analysis platforms, and project delivery tools.
- Lead BIM coordination meetings and provide technical support for project teams.
- Participate in project design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
- Liaise with project directors, project managers, design managers, and discipline leads to support successful project delivery.
- Support project communication, issue management, and BIM-related stakeholder engagement activities.
Quality & Risk Management
- Conduct BIM audits, model reviews, and health checks to ensure compliance with project and business requirements.
- Monitor adherence to BIM standards, project BIM execution plans, and quality assurance procedures.
- Support the implementation of quality control processes for structural BIM deliverables.
- Contribute to lessons learned initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify BIM delivery risks and support development of mitigation and corrective action plans.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to BIM Coordinators/ Task team managers, BIM Modellers, and project delivery teams.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of BIM resources within GCC.
- Deliver BIM training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Promote collaboration between GCC and Middle East delivery teams.
- Support performance management, competency assessments, and development planning.
- Assist with resource planning, workload forecasting, and team capacity management.
- Support the establishment and monitoring of BIM team performance KPIs.
Digital Delivery & Continuous Improvements
- Identify opportunities to improve BIM workflows, standards, and delivery efficiency.
- Support the enhancement and maintenance of BIM templates, content libraries, and automation tools.
- Promote the adoption of emerging digital technologies, automation, and AI‑assisted workflows.
- Contribute to BIM innovation initiatives and digital transformation programmes.
- Support departmental training programmes and capability development activities.
- Participate in team‑building initiatives and knowledge‑sharing forums.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 12–15 years' experience within the AEC industry.
- Minimum 8 years of BIM leadership experience on major multidisciplinary projects.
- Proven experience leading BIM delivery for large‑scale structural engineering projects across the Middle East.
- Demonstrable experience implementing ISO 19650 workflows and Information Management practices.
- Experience supporting bids, mobilisation, project delivery, and digital transformation initiatives.
