Job summary

UST is seeking an experienced Derivative Onboarding specialist to join our Onboarding and Event Management team in Chennai. You will coordinate account onboarding across brokers and market vendors, open trading accounts, and ensure end-to-end processes meet deadlines with high data accuracy.

You will document information, maintain due diligence files in Markit KYC, and support continuous improvements while mentoring junior colleagues in a fast-paced asset management environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of derivative onboarding experience.
• Strong knowledge of OTC, ETD, FX products and related processes.
• Experience with data management and regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate derivative account onboarding across internal and external vendors.

Role Description

Overview of Role:

The Derivative Onboarding team forms part of the wider Onboarding and Event Management module.

The O&EM team goal is to deliver all onboarding activities required to bring a Client or Client Fund to life on our Investment platform.

The Derivative team is responsible for setting up the trading capabilities spanning, but not limited to; FX, OTC Bilateral & Cleared, ETD, CFD's, Term Deposits and TBA's.

This involves liaising with external parties such as brokers, clearers and market platforms to open trading accounts. The team is also responsible for updating key business data for trading, collateral, legal and operations teams within our internal systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate derivative account onboarding
• Open derivative trading accounts internally and with external market vendors
• Own the end-to-end process and ensure deadlines are always met
• Clearly document all required information throughout any onboard
• Keep all key parties informed of onboarding status progression, from initiation to completion
• Ensure all data is accurately maintained in internal databases and external platforms
• Maintain up to date due diligence docs in Markit KYC, permission appropriate / approved brokers
• Assist with any process improvement, ensure operating guidelines are met and controls are accurately completed
• Respond to counterparty and broker queries, clearly and quickly
• Act as a role model and point of contact for junior colleagues

Behaviours Required

• 5+ years of derivative onboarding experience
• A good understanding of OTC (Bilateral and Cleared), ETD and FX
• Managing a high volume of varied tasks efficiently and meeting internal and external deadlines.
• Collecting, verifying, storing, and maintaining accurate operational data.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Commitment to delivering a high-quality onboarding and offboarding experience for our clients
• Good understanding of operational risks
• Previous experience working within an Asset Management firm or similar.
• Previous experience of CFD's, Term Deposits, TBA's and Loans would be adventagious.
• Ideally, previous experience of Aladdin, S&P Global Markit RFA or Markit 'Onboarding Accelerator' What you'll be like
