Job summary

Verisk is seeking an Associate GIS Analyst in Hyderabad to support geospatial data development for flood hazard mapping and catastrophe risk modeling.

You will work with GIS, remote sensing, and Python to automate workflows, validate datasets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality geospatial products.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Geo-Informatics, Remote Sensing & GIS, Spatial Technologies, or a related discipline.
  • 0–3 years of experience in GIS, Remote Sensing, or Flood GIS (internships and academic projects acceptable).
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, QGIS, and Python (ArcPy); knowledge of SQL is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, process, validate, and maintain GIS datasets for flood modeling and hazard mapping.
  • Perform raster and vector data processing, spatial analysis, terrain analysis, and GIS data QA/QC.
  • Prepare and maintain datasets such as DEMs, LiDAR, river networks, catchments, flood zones, and hydrography.
  • Develop and maintain Python (ArcPy and open-source Python) scripts to automate GIS workflows.
  • Collect, integrate, and validate geospatial datasets from reliable sources and maintain metadata.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate and timely GIS products.
  • Support the adoption of AI-assisted geospatial workflows and emerging GIS technologies.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Associate GIS Analyst to support the development, processing, validation, and maintenance of geospatial datasets for flood hazard mapping and catastrophe risk modeling.   • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with a willingness to learn new technologies.
