Job description

Purpose/Objective

• To lead and drive the site-level IT and Digital Transformation agenda by aligning technology strategy with business objectives, operational excellence, and sustainability goals.
• The role is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable IT operations, enabling digital innovation through emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, automation, and analytics, while supporting business growth, cybersecurity, governance, and continuous improvement across port operations.
• Additionally, the role focuses on building high-performing teams, fostering innovation, and delivering technology-enabled business transformation through effective stakeholder, partner, and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• Develop and execute the IT strategy aligned with business goals and sustainability initiatives.
• Drive digital innovation for Port operations.
• Collaborate with leadership to support new initiatives and technology adoption.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust IT infrastructure.
• Ensure high availability of systems supporting production, logistics, and enterprise functions.
• Manage cloud and on-premises environments, network architecture, and disaster recovery plans - To lead initiatives for IT function at site level aligned with business requirements and site priorities - Support the Adani Ports Digital organization to integrate IT for business transformation using IOT, AI amongst many other technology drivers.
• Alignment with Technology and Analytics teams.
• To understand business expectations with respect to site IT services, assess current level of IT functionalities, identify and communicate gaps and scope of improvements to the business team; Devise a strategic plan to meet and deliver IT solutions and services in line with site related requirements.
• Manage 24X7 operation IT support and adheres to SLA with outsourced partners.
• Establish and manage 24X7 IT Command and control facility.
• Coordination for multi-system interface integration including automation, IOT and Paperless initiatives.
• Monitoring and control of IT budget and provide regular updates to CIO/ IT Head/ CTO/ - Implement processes and systems for maintaining security of IT solutions and services in line with standard Adani operating procedures - Implement governance systems and processes at the site in alignment to the governance framework.
• Timely submission of data asked by BU/Group governance team.
• Cybersecurity & Compliance - Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies and protocols to protect critical assets.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST) and regulatory requirements.
• Team Management - Build and mentor a high-performing IT team across infrastructure, applications, and support.
• Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement - - Leadership & Team Management - Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams across data engineering, BI, data science, and data governance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 15+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role - Experience in managing IT for large-scale industrial operations.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and industrial automation.
• Familiarity with port operations, technologies and sustainability frameworks is a plus.
• Exposure to largescale transformation and driving change at the team level.
• Experience in managing IT facilities for Ports and Logistics will be added advantage.
• Exposure to OT Security and automation technologies - Sound exposure to IT security practices and managing secure operations
