Job description

Position Overview

The position will play a vital role within the project focused on enhancing the capacities of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in North and Central India. This position requires sound knowledge in specific thematic areas related to governance, compliance, and financial management, contributing essential guidance and support to strengthen the capabilities of participating organizations.

Responsibilities
  1. Finance & Compliance - Program
  1. Assist in tailoring project interventions, workshops, and content to align with the thematic focus.
  2. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to implement project activities effectively
  3. Contribute to design and contextualisation of capacity-building interventions (workshops, tools, and learning materials) in governance, financial management, and compliance.
  4. Help develop and update tools, templates, and manuals for organizational systems strengthening.
  5. Assist in coordinating surveys, feedback tools, and documentation of program outputs.
  6. Maintain proper filing and documentation in line with internal policies and donor requirements.
  7. Maintain and update project data to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  8. Act as a point of coordination with partner organisations, providing ongoing technical support where required.
  1. Accounting support
  1. Support verification of project expenditures and preparation for internal and external audits.
  2. Assist in managing accounts payable/receivable, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations.
  3. Maintain financial records, receipts, and process invoices as per organizational procedures.
  4. Provide general support to the Finance team as required.
  1. Administrative & Operational Support
  1. Coordinate logistics for workshops and meetings, including venue booking and participant communication.
  2. Assist with travel arrangements (air/train bookings), confirmations, and coordination with team members.
  3. Support procurement processes in line with organizational policies.
  4. Undertake other duties within the scope of the role as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
  1. Preferably a B.COM/MBA or equivalent qualification
  2. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience working in Finance and Accounting in the NPO sector
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Good organizational and time-management skills
  5. Familiarity with compliances related to development sector
  6. Proficiency in project coordination and stakeholder engagement
  7. Basic understanding of accounting principles
  8. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
  9. Willingness to travel
  10. Proficient in Accounting and IT software and tools
