- "Develop and maintain Discrete Event Simulation models for manufacturing lines, cells, and factory operations using ProModel or comparable simulation platforms.
- Collect and analyze manufacturing inputs such as demand, production routing, cycle time, changeover time, equipment availability, labor allocation, buffer capacity, shift patterns, and material movement.
- Work with manufacturing sites and project teams to verify that simulation inputs, operating assumptions, constraints, and production scenarios are accurate and traceable.
- Support production line design and line-balancing studies based on demand, takt time, process sequence, cycle time, workstation requirements, operator allocation, and equipment capacity.
- Develop current-state and proposed-state process-flow representations for manufacturing lines and cells.
- Support factory and production‑area layout development by evaluating equipment placement, workstation arrangement, aisle requirements, material presentation, storage locations, buffers, and operator movement.
- Perform layout optimization studies to improve production flow, space utilization, equipment access, material movement, and operational efficiency.
- Build simulation scenarios to evaluate alternative production configurations, staffing levels, equipment quantities, buffer sizes, shift patterns, and layout concepts.
- Identify production bottlenecks and capacity constraints using simulation results, process observations, and manufacturing data.
- Support equipment and labor‑sizing analyses by comparing required demand with available process and resource capacity.
- Analyze material movement between storage, production processes, workstations, and finished‑goods areas to identify excessive travel, waiting, handling, congestion, or work‑in‑process.
- Support the development and evaluation of internal material‑flow concepts, including line‑side presentation, point‑of‑use storage, replenishment routes, supermarkets, carts, tuggers, forklifts, and other material‑handling methods.
- Compare simulation results with calculated capacity and actual shop‑floor performance to verify model accuracy and identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare clear engineering reports and presentations summarizing assumptions, simulation logic, findings, alternative scenarios, risks, and recommendations.
- Maintain appropriate version control, model documentation, data sources, assumptions, and validation records for simulation and layout studies.
- Participate in manufacturing‑site visits, process observations, time studies, technical discussions, and project reviews.
- Apply Eaton engineering systems, standards, safety requirements, and project processes during model development and project execution.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to the development of reusable simulation‑model structures, data templates, and Industrial Engineering methods.
