Collins Aerospace in Bengaluru is seeking a Mechanical/Aerospace engineer for structural analysis of aircraft components and assemblies. You will work with cross-functional teams to perform static, fatigue, and vibration analyses, utilizing hand calculations and FE methods. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential.

1–3 years of experience and knowledge of composites, solid mechanics, and machine design are required. A hybrid work environment is offered with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of composite materials and structural analysis.
• Strong fundamentals in solid mechanics and machine design.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsabilités

• Perform structural analysis of aircraft components and assemblies as part of an integrated team.
• Conduct loads, static, fatigue, damage-tolerance and vibration analyses.
• Evaluate structural integrity using hand calculations and finite element methods.
• Draw FBDs, generate loads, and analyze load paths and responses.
• Prepare documentation and revise stress reports using MS Office.
• Propose solutions based on stress analysis results.
• Manage schedule and cost for project portions; track engineering metrics (OTD, FPY).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with USA-based business units.
• Willing to work under aggressive schedules while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performing structural analysis of Aircraft components, assemblies while working as a part of integrated team.
• Structural analysis includes calculation of loads, Static analysis, Fatigue analysis, Damage-Tolerance analysis, and Vibration analysis
• Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft components by way of classical hand calculations and, finite element method
• Draw FBDs based on the structural load paths. Generation of applied loads, interface loads and internal loads distributions, utilizing proper understanding and recognition of structural load paths and structural response to load.
• Prepare informal and formal documentation of strength check notes or revise existing stress report using MS Office products.
• Suggest solutions to resolve any concerns based on the stress Analysis results
• Responsible for schedule and cost for the portion of the project assigned. Responsible for engineering metrics like OTD, FPY, etc.
• Working with Cross functional team and communicate with business units in USA (effective written and verbal communication is required for the purpose of achieving successful job performance)
• Willingness to work in extremely aggressive schedules, while still not neglecting the value of attention to details and subsequently delivering high quality work to the customers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/ Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
• Good Knowledge of composite Materials and Analysis
• Sound Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals
• Proficient in the fundamentals of solid Mechanics, Machine Design etc.
• Good understanding of structural load paths and structural response to load.
• Experience in Analysis tools such as Hypermesh or Nastran/Patran
• Good communication and Interpersonal skills
• Good analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office – Word, Excel and Presentation
• Knowledge on Aircraft structural part design, materials, and manufacturing processes
