Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Bengaluru seeks a senior leader to drive Digital Engineering, Software and Systems Engineering initiatives. You will own the execution of the Digital Engineering roadmap, balancing people leadership with technical depth and innovation across global teams and stakeholders.

You will guide strategic priorities, champion adoption of best practices, and push for measurable improvements in productivity and delivery, with a strong focus on cloud and API-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related STEM field with 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including team leadership.
• Strong understanding of Software engineering, Systems Engineering or related technologies.
• Experience delivering complex technical initiatives and influencing across teams.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and people leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate Digital Engineering strategy into priorities, plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead Digital Engineering, Software and System initiatives; guide technical decisions and resolve complex cross-team challenges.
• Develop engineers, build Digital Engineering, Systems and Software capabilities, support hiring and performance management, and develop future leaders.
• Partner with global Engineering teams, Architects, Product Owners, Discipline Leaders, and stakeholders to drive adoption and reuse.
• Focus innovation on the right business and engineering problems; enable experimentation and scale solutions across the organization.
• Establish engineering practices and metrics that improve adoption, productivity, quality, efficiency, and delivery.

Overview

Lead a team working on Digital Engineering, Software and Systems Engineering to improve Engineering productivity and business outcomes. Own execution and adoption of the Digital Engineering roadmap. Balance people leadership, technical depth, execution, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical & Delivery Leadership: Lead Digital Engineering, Software and System initiatives; guide technical decisions and resolve complex cross-team challenges.
• People & Capability: Develop experienced engineers, build Digital Engineering, Systems and Software capabilities, support hiring and performance management, and develop future technical leaders.
• Collaboration & Influence: Partner with global Engineering teams, Architects, Product Owners, Discipline Leaders, and business stakeholders to drive adoption and reuse.
• Innovation: Focus innovation on the right business and engineering problems; enable experimentation and scale successful solutions across the organization.
• Operational Excellence: Establish engineering practices and metrics that improve adoption, productivity, quality, efficiency, and delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related STEM field with 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including team leadership.
• Strong understanding of Software engineering, Systems Engineering or related technologies.
• Experience delivering complex technical initiatives and influencing across teams.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and people leadership skills.
• Preferred
• Experience with cloud, APIs, data platforms, CI/CD, and modern Software Engineering.
