Job summary

Arm Limited is seeking an experienced ASIC/SoC implementation engineer in Bengaluru to drive synthesis, physical design and timing closure for Arm cores and SoCs. You will analyze timing, area and power to enhance IP quality and collaborate with IP RTL design teams to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of ASIC SoC implementation flow RTL to GDS.
• Experience in Timing Constraints development, Synthesis, Timing Closure.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Experience tape-out of multi-million gate designs on latest technologies.

Job Overview

The implementation team in Arm's Solution Engineering drives the standards and methodology behind producing best in class Arm cores and systems on silicon. The group works on ensuring that our IPs can meet the requirements of the Arm partner base, on brand new deep sub-micron processes, whilst driving advanced implementation methodologies using the latest EDA tools. In addition, this group is responsible for specification, design and fabrication of Arm based SoCs used for demonstrating the capabilities of Arm intellectual property, resulting in the testing and analysis of real silicon.

This is an exciting role, employing the latest design techniques to meet demanding product specifications on the newest technology nodes. The role also involves interaction and working with customers, EDA vendors and other Arm engineering groups around the world.

Responsibilities

• Synthesis, Physical design and implementation of Arm cores, systems and SoCs
• Analyze design timing, area and power to help improve the quality of Arm IP.
• Develop and deploy new methodologies to improve implementation efficiency and results.
• Support and develop detailed implementation analysis and data-mining methodologies.
• Work with implementation and physical IP RTL design teams to drive analysis and optimization of our IP.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelors or Master’s degree equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other relevant technical fields.
• 2+ years of proven experience in ASIC system-on-chip implementation flow from RTL to GDS.
• Experience in Timing Constraints development, Synthesis, Timing Closure
• Possess a high level of dedicated, initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Experience of tape outs of multi-million gate designs on latest technologies
• Ability to develop and work with timing constraints for build and signoff
• The ability to effectively work alone as well as in a team

Nice To Have Skills and Experience

• Experience with a wide range of programming, scripting & data presentation languages Eg. Tcl, Shell, Perl, Python.
• Experience with low power design techniques (power gating, voltage/frequency scaling).
• Experience with Verilog RTL design
• Understanding of DFT modes and their implications on Physical Design
