Job summary

Clergy & Wisemen LLP in New Delhi invites a junior litigation associate to work directly with the founders and senior litigators on civil, consumer and commercial disputes across India.

You will draft plaints, statements and submissions, conduct research, and progressively appear before courts and tribunals. This is a hands-on, drafting-heavy seat offering early responsibility.

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years in litigation, including strong candidates fresh out of law school
• A genuine flair for legal drafting and an eye for detail
• A sound grasp of civil procedure and the substantive law around it
• Willingness to travel and appear across jurisdictions
• Clear writing, sharp research and the temperament to work in a close-knit team

• Research procedural and substantive questions and turn that research into filing-ready work

The role

You will work directly with the founders and senior litigators on civil, consumer and commercial disputes across India. Day to day, you will:

• Draft plaints, written statements, petitions, applications, replies and written submissions
• Research procedural and substantive questions and turn that research into filing-ready work
• Brief for and, as you progress, appear before courts, tribunals and consumer forums across the country
• Run matters end to end alongside the team, from first notice through execution

This is a hands-on, drafting-heavy, court-facing seat. You will not be parked on document review.
