Wadhwani AI is a non-profit institute focused on applying AI to public health, agriculture, education, and urban development in underserved communities. We seek a senior product leader to define and drive our long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap across multiple AI-enabled solutions.

You will build a scalable product portfolio, lead and grow PM teams, and ensure end-to-end delivery from discovery to scale, collaborating with Engineering, AI Research, Design, and Programs to maximize impact.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience leading product organizations and cross-functional teams.
• Experience defining and executing product strategy for enterprise software, SaaS, AI/ML products, or digital public goods.
• Proven ability to manage multiple Product Managers and build high-performing product organizations.
• Success driving complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to scale.
• Excellent stakeholder management across engineering, design, research, business, and external partners.

Wadhwani AI is a non-profit institute building and deploying applied AI solutions to solve critical issues in public health, agriculture, education, and urban development in underserved communities in the global south. We collaborate with governments, social sector organizations, academic and research institutions, and domain experts to identify real-world problems, and develop practical AI solutions to tackle these issues with the aim of making a substantial positive impact.

Job Description

Define and drive the long-term product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with Wadhwani AI's organizational mission and strategic priorities.

Build a scalable product portfolio across multiple domains and AI-enabled solutions.

Identify emerging opportunities where AI can generate meaningful impact in underserved communities.

Drive product prioritization by balancing user needs, organizational goals, technical feasibility, and program impact.

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of Product Managers and Group Product Managers.

Establish product management frameworks, processes, and best practices across the organization.

Foster a culture of customer-centricity, experimentation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Provide coaching and career development to product team members.

Product Delivery & Execution

Oversee end-to-end product development from discovery through deployment and scale.

Ensure timely and high-quality execution across multiple concurrent product initiatives.

Partner closely with Engineering, AI Research, Design, Programs, and Implementation teams to drive successful product delivery.

Resolve cross-functional dependencies and remove execution bottlenecks.

Stakeholder Management

Work closely with government agencies, donors, implementation partners, and internal leadership to understand evolving needs and translate them into product strategy.

Represent the product function in executive reviews, donor meetings, strategic discussions, and external engagements.

Build alignment across multiple stakeholders with differing priorities.

Product Discovery & User Research

Champion user research and evidence-based product development.

Ensure product decisions are informed by field insights, user feedback, implementation learnings, and impact data.

Promote rapid validation through pilots, usability testing, and iterative product development.

Product Operations

Establish product planning, roadmap management, prioritization, release planning, and governance processes.

Monitor product health, delivery milestones, adoption metrics, and implementation outcomes.

Improve operational efficiency through standardized tools, workflows, and reporting mechanisms.

Product Quality & Adoption

Ensure products are intuitive, scalable, reliable, and aligned with user needs.

Define product success metrics and monitor adoption, engagement, and impact.

Drive successful implementation and user adoption through collaboration with program and deployment teams.

Organizational Leadership

Contribute to organizational strategy as a member of the leadership team.

Support fundraising efforts through product strategy, demonstrations, and proposal development.

Influence technology investments, product architecture decisions, and long-term innovation initiatives.

Requirements

10-15 years of overall experience, with significant experience leading product organizations and cross-functional teams.

Proven experience defining and executing product strategy for enterprise software, SaaS platforms, AI/ML products, or digital public goods.

Strong experience managing multiple Product Managers and building high-performing product organizations.

Demonstrated success in driving complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to scale.

Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience working across engineering, design, research, business, and external partners.

Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, product lifecycle management, and modern product development practices.

Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into customer-focused product solutions.

Experience with user research, product analytics, roadmap planning, prioritization frameworks, and product metrics.

Strong strategic thinking, execution, communication, and leadership skills.

Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous, and mission-driven environments.
