Job summary

Jobtailor in Bengaluru, India is seeking a senior Workday Payroll consultant to lead US/Canada payroll projects and manage multiple assignments across the delivery lifecycle. You will conduct workshops, gather requirements, design solutions, configure payroll, mentor team members, and coordinate with directors, clients, and onsite leads to ensure timely delivery and high quality.

This role requires strong communication, client-facing skills, and the ability to work across time zones to support

Qualifications

• Certified on US Payroll and/or Canada Payroll
• Total 12+ years of experience including 7+ years in Workday
• Extensive client-facing consulting experience driving implementation projects
• Strong understanding of Workday module interaction and integration
• Current knowledge of Workday releases and product roadmap
• Ability to recommend and implement country-specific Workday best practices
• Experience managing complex Workday implementations, upgrades, and process improvements
• Workday Payroll configuration and customization expertise
• US/Canada payroll expertise, including parallel and history loads

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritize Workday implementation projects across the delivery lifecycle
• Lead US/Canada payroll projects and manage multiple assignments
• Conduct workshop sessions independently and address customer queries
• Configure and customize the Workday Payroll module
• Coordinate deliverables with consultants and cross-functional stakeholders
• Deliver in-scope payroll reporting and dashboard solutions
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and resolution actions
• Lead Workday implementation projects from planning through execution
• Gather and document requirements, estimate complexity and effort, prioritize capacity, and define timelines
• Identify test scenarios, develop test scripts, and support releases, security, and UAT
• Mentor and coach team members
• Drive operational excellence and transformational projects focused on timelines and quality
• Review project health, manage deployment-team workload, and report status
• Coordinate planning and delivery with directors, managers, clients, onsite leads, and functional leads
• Participate in recruitment and mentor junior team members
• Design Workday solutions, prepare designs, propose solutions, and lead design reviews
• Define project scope, estimate and prioritize tasks, identify risks, and manage delivery
• Conduct team development, one-to-one meetings, and IDP progress tracking
• Manage requirements scope, architect solutions, research business processes, and recommend efficient system designs
• Direct developers, analysts, and testers as project lead
• Support UAT, production rollout, and post-deployment production support
• Develop communication plans and manage stakeholder collaboration and issue escalation
• Develop strategies to maximize Workday platform use and improve business processes
