Job summary

IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) is seeking a senior accounting professional to manage end-to-end processes for Airport Charges, Engineering payables and Fixed Assets. You will ensure accuracy, tax compliance, and timely reporting while coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Your role includes asset capitalization, depreciation, monthly closings, audit readiness, and improving controls and ERP efficiency through SAP-based workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead teams and mentor staff.
• Solid understanding of accounting standards and compliance.
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Experience with audit readiness and closing processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee airport charges, engineering payables and fixed asset accounting, including invoice booking, asset code creation, and contract review.
• Lead automation initiatives in airport charges, engg. and fixed asset accounting.
• Conduct physical verification and reconcile assets per policy.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register and updates (location, scrapping, sale).
• Capitalize assets and compute depreciation per standards.
• Ensure monthly closure of books within financial timelines.
• Track capital advances and ensure proper closure.
• Support audit readiness through schedules and addressing audit points.

Key Responsibilities

Airport Charges, Engineering and Fixed Asset Management

• Oversee Airport Charges, Engineering and fixed asset accounting including invoice booking, asset code creation, and contract review
• Leading the Automation in Airport Charges, Engineering and FA accounting
• Conduct physical verification and reconciliation of assets per company policy
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register, update based on department feedback (e.g., asset location, scrapping, sale)
• Capitalize assets and compute depreciation as per accounting standards
• Ensure monthly closure of books according to financial timelines
• Track capital advances and ensure closure
• Support audit preparedness through schedule creation and resolution of audit points

Vendor Coordination & Controls

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues
• Ensure internal controls are in place and properly documented
• Ensuring FEMA compliance with respect to payments / receipts in Foreign currency
• Maintain tax compliance (Direct and Indirect) relevant to engineering and asset purchases

Reporting & Business Support

• Prepare regular MIS and analytics reports for leadership
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and data accuracy
• Support strategic decision-making with financial insight
