Job summary

IORA invites applications for an entry-level, full-time position in Climate Change / Nature & Climate Resilience. The role focuses on research, project support, stakeholder engagement, and developing deliverables such as reports and policy briefs.

Candidates should have a Master’s degree in a relevant field and 1–2 years of climate-related experience. Responsibilities include field data collection, expanding IORA’s portfolio, and drafting proposals for donor- or private sector-funded programmes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Climate Science, Public Policy, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Development or related disciplines.
• 1–2 years of experience after Master’s in climate change adaptation, mitigation, resilience and climate finance related projects.
• Knowledge of national and international climate policy, modelling, vulnerability assessments, statistical analysis, socio-economic analysis, Nature-based solutions, implementation planning and climate finance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and synthesise quantitative and qualitative information quickly and succinctly.
• Proficiency in proposal writing, technical report writing, project documentation and presentation skills.

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Master’s degree in Climate Science, Public Policy, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Development or related disciplines from a reputed university.
• 1–2 years of experience after Master’s in climate change adaptation, mitigation, resilience and climate finance related projects. Cross-sectoral experience in climate change will also be preferred.
• Knowledge of recent developments in national and international climate policy, climate change modelling, vulnerability assessments, statistical analysis, socio-economic analysis, Nature-based solutions, implementation planning and climate finance.
• Field work experience will be preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills. Willingness to solve research problems with creative thinking.
• Ability to read and synthesise quantitative and qualitative information quickly and succinctly.
• Proficiency in proposal writing, technical report writing, project documentation and presentation skills. A credible publication record shall be an added advantage.
• Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively with team members.
