Job summary

Vivir Services Chandigarh seeks a results-driven technology and innovation professional to lead strategy for advanced manufacturing in Karnataka, India. You will identify and evaluate emerging technologies, including automation and AI-based inspection systems, and collaborate with local and international vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
  • 4-7 years of field experience in a similar work environment.
  • FMCG manufacturing experience preferred, especially with biscuits, cakes, or rusk.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage pilot projects for new technologies and drive TPM-based improvements.
  • Oversee scoping, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication for projects.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
Technology & Innovation Strategy
  • Continuously scan and identify emerging technologies, both within and outside the food manufacturing industry.
  • Evaluate the feasibility and potential cost-reduction impact (labor, power, fuel) of new technologies, including end-of-line automation.
  • Collaborate with local and international vendors to assess new technological solutions.
  • Focus on advanced technologies such as high-speed/flexible lines, fuel-efficient baking, automation, robotics, and AI-based inspection systems.
Project Management and Implementation
  • Lead and manage capital projects from initial conception through to full commissioning, including both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Prepare, execute, and manage pilot projects for promising new technologies.
  • Oversee all project management phases: scoping, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet defined performance and quality standards.
Technical Expertise & Process Improvement
  • In-depth knowledge of food manufacturing processes, including process automation (powders & liquid), mixers, depositors, aerators, baking ovens, injectors, primary & secondary packaging machinery & End of line automation.
  • Drive operational stability and continuous improvement using Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
  • Implement and sustain TPM pillars to maximize equipment effectiveness and foster a culture of autonomous maintenance.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify bottlenecks and find opportunities for process, equipment, and reliability improvements
Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to ensure project success, including Manufacturing Managers, Factory Managers, Regional Manufacturing Heads, Maintenance Managers, and Quality Managers.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
Experience
  • 4-7 years of field experience in a similar work environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Preferred Experience within the FMCG manufacturing sector, specifically related to biscuit, cake, rusk categories, is highly preferred.
