Job summary

Lloyd's Register Group in Chennai is seeking an Assistant Specialist to provide operational and technical administrative support across multiple business systems. The role emphasizes system administration, user support, data maintenance, reporting and service request management to safeguard data integrity and availability.

You will assist with process improvements, documentation, and governance while expanding technical knowledge for system enhancements and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as specified in the role.
• Certification or training in business systems, data analysis, reporting tools, IT service management, or application support.
• Significant experience in providing administrative and technical support in a business environment.
• PC literate, proficient in MS Office.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Structured problem solving and a methodical approach to resolving issues.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support for business applications and digital platforms, ensuring timely resolution of user queries and service requests.
• Oversee user account management processes for internal and external clients for multiple systems in accordance with established processes and controls.
• Manage support requests, resolve routine issues, and coordinate escalation of complex incidents.
• Produce reports, perform data analysis, and support data quality and governance activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a high standard of customer service and operational support.
• Maintain process documentation, procedures, and knowledge resources.
• Contribute to system enhancements, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in line with internal procedures, contractual requirements, cost structures, and budget constraints.
• Assess the risks and work safely, reporting incidents, near misses, and health and safety concerns.

We are looking for an assistant specialist who can provide operational and technical administrative support across a range of business systems and services. The role is responsible for system administration activities, customer and user support, data maintenance, reporting, and service request management, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and availability of critical business information. The position contributes to the effective operation of customer-facing and internal systems, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and, over time, develops deeper technical knowledge to assist with system enhancements, testing, reporting and process optimisation.

The role

• Provide first-line support for business applications and digital platforms, ensuring timely resolution of user queries and service requests.

• Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refusing to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.
• Report in a timely manner all incidents, including near misses and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Certification or training in business systems, data analysis, reporting tools, IT service management, or application support.
• Significant experience in providing administrative and technical support in a business environment.
• PC literate, specifically, proficient in MS Office.
• Solid organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Well-developed learning, problem-solving abilities and a structured approach to resolving issues.
• Ability to work effectively and as part of a multi-cultural team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in the Maritime industry
• Knowledge of ServiceNow, Salesforce Case Management, Power BI, MySQL, or similar business applications
