Job summary

Nexelon Chem Pvt Ltd is seeking a highly specialized Quality Assurance - Assistant Manager for our Khambhat facility in Gujarat. The role entails ownership of QA/QC frameworks for CPVC resin and compounding lines, ensuring products meet national and international standards.

The candidate will lead testing, regulatory compliance (NSF/ANSI 14 & 61, ASTM D2846, BIS IS 15778), and drive CAPA and MOC with production teams. Strong chemistry expertise and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institute.
• 10-15 years QA/QC experience in PVC/CPVC resin manufacturing / chemical or advanced compounding plant.
• At least 45 years must be in a managerial position.

Responsibilities

• CPVC Quality Management: Establish and implement QA/QC protocols specifically for CPVC resin chlorination, compounding, and pelletizing processes.
• Raw Material & Additive QA: Oversee testing and validation of PVC resin, chlorine, stabilizers (Tin/Calcium-Zinc), lubricants, impact modifiers, and processing aids.
• Application & Performance Testing: Ensure CPVC compounds are tested for viscosity, chlorine content, thermal stability, fusion time, Izod impact, and Vicat Softening Temperature.
• Regulatory & Certification Compliance: Drive certifications (NSF/ANSI 14 & 61, ASTM D2846, ASTM F441, BIS IS 15778) and coordinate with external auditors.
• In-Process & Extrusion Validation: Partner with production to run extrusion trials ensuring optimal flow, gelation, and properties.
• Root Cause Analysis & CAPA: Lead investigations into batch rejections, degradation, contamination; implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Management of Change (MOC): Evaluate and approve changes in raw material vendors, recipes, or process parameters to protect long-term hydrostatic strength.

Role Overview

Nexelon Chem Pvt Ltd is seeking a highly specialized and technically proficient Quality Assurance - Assistant Manager for our state-of-the-art chemical and polymer processing facility in Khambhat.

The successful candidate will take complete ownership of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control frameworks specifically for our CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride) resin and compounding lines. This role demands a deep understanding of polymer chemistry, chlorination processes, formulation stabilization, and compounding technology. You will ensure that all CPVC products meet strict national and international standards (such as ASTM, NSF, and BIS) for plumbing, industrial, and fire-sprinkler applications.

Key Responsibilities

• CPVC Quality Management: Establish and implement rigorous QA/QC protocols specifically tailored for CPVC resin chlorination, compounding, and pelletizing processes.

• Raw Material & Additive QA: Oversee the testing and validation of critical raw materials including PVC resin, chlorine, stabilizers (Tin/Calcium-Zinc), lubricants, impact modifiers, and processing aids.

• Application & Performance Testing: Ensure comprehensive testing of CPVC compounds for critical properties such as inherent viscosity, chlorine content, thermal stability (Congo Red test), Fusion time (using Torque Rheometers), Izod impact strength, and Vicat Softening Temperature (VST).

• Regulatory & Certification Compliance: Drive and maintain product certifications required for CPVC applications, including NSF/ANSI 14 & 61, ASTM D2846, ASTM F441, and BIS (IS 15778) standards. Coordinate with external auditors from certifying bodies.

• In-Process & Extrusion Validation: Partner closely with production to run extrusion trial lines, ensuring the compound exhibits optimal flow, gelation, and physical properties during pipe and fitting conversion.

• Root Cause Analysis & CAPA: Lead technical investigations into batch rejections, thermal degradation during processing, fish-eyes, contamination, or customer complaints. Deploy advanced Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to execute robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

• Management of Change (MOC): Evaluate and approve any changes in raw material vendors, compounding recipes, or process parameters to ensure there is no adverse impact on the long-term hydrostatic strength (LTHS) of the final product.

• Team Leadership & Lab Management: Manage and upscale the technical competencies of QA/QC chemists and lab technicians. Oversee the calibration and maintenance of specialized polymer testing equipment.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education:
• B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institute.

• Experience: 10-15 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Control within a PVC/CPVC resin manufacturing / Chemical or advanced compounding plant. At least 45 years must be in a managerial position.

• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in chlorination techniques and equipment
• In-depth knowledge of CPVC compounding formulations, thermal stabilizers, and processing dynamics.
• Thorough familiarity with international piping standards (ASTM, NSF, ISO) and ISO 9001:2015 QMS.

• Soft Skills: Strong leadership presence, analytical mindset, uncompromising stance on quality benchmarks, and effective communication skills in English, Hindi, and Gujarati (preferred).
