The candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and controlling project schedules, monitoring contractor performance, identifying schedule risks and delays, and providing timely recommendations for corrective and recovery measures.

  • Develop and maintain the Project Master Schedule in Primavera P6.
  • Establish appropriate WBS, activity coding, calendars, relationships, milestones and critical path.
  • Develop baseline, detailed execution, procurement, design and commissioning schedules.
  • Integrate design, approvals, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Review contractor baseline schedules for logic, sequencing, durations, resources and achievability.
  • Ensure alignment of contractor schedules with overall project milestones.
  • Develop detailed L2/L3/L4 schedules as required by the project.
  • Prepare and maintain 2-week, 4-week and monthly look‑ahead schedules.
  • Identify interface activities and constraints affecting project progress.
  • Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline schedule.
  • Collect and validate progress information from site teams and contractors.
  • Carry out weekly and monthly schedule updates.
  • Analyse planned vs. actual progress and identify slippages.
  • Track critical and near‑critical activities.
  • Monitor key project milestones and sectional completion dates.
  • Identify potential delays at an early stage and elevate them to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure that reported progress is supported by actual site achievement.
  • Prepare and monitor manpower histograms and resource loading.
  • Review contractor manpower and equipment deployment against planned requirements.
  • Monitor productivity against planned norms.
  • Identify resource shortages affecting critical activities.
  • Prepare resource‑based recovery plans where required.
  • Monitor material and equipment requirements against project milestones.
  • Coordinate with design consultants to track drawing and document deliverables.
  • Monitor design approvals against construction requirements.
  • Integrate procurement schedules with the construction programme.
  • Track long‑lead items and ensure delivery dates are aligned with site requirements.
  • Highlight delays in design approvals, material procurement and statutory approvals that may impact the programme.
  • Review and comment on contractor schedules and programmes.
  • Conduct regular planning meetings with contractors and site teams.
  • Challenge unrealistic activity durations, sequencing and progress claims.
  • Ensure contractors submit updated schedules and recovery programmes on time.
  • Monitor contractor commitments against agreed action plans.
  • Provide planning inputs during commercial and contractual discussions.
  • Maintain a clear record of delay events, instructions, approvals and their schedule impact.
  • Maintain a schedule risk and constraint register.
  • Identify activities with potential impact on project completion.
  • Carry out schedule risk assessments and mitigation planning.
  • Support cost and commercial teams by providing schedule information for forecasting and change management.
  • Analyse the schedule impact of variations and change orders.
  • Support project forecasting and expected completion‑date assessments.
  • Ensure schedule changes are properly documented and traceable.
About You
  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
  • Post Graduate qualification in Construction Management / Project Management will be an advantage.
  • Primavera P6 certification will be preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in construction planning/project controls.
  • Should have substantial experience in preparing and managing construction programmes rather than only updating schedules.
  • Experience with a PMC/Client/Consultant organisation will be preferred.
  • Experience in reviewing contractor programmes and delay claims will be an advantage.
  • The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on construction planning professional, not merely a Primavera operator.
  • He/she should be capable of independently analysing a project programme, identifying why the project is slipping, determining the impact on the critical path, developing recovery options and presenting clear recommendations to the Project Manager/Client.
  • Experience with major contractors such as L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji, Tata Projects, NCC, Afcons, Brigade, Prestige or similar organisations, or experience with a reputed PMC/consultancy, will be preferred.
