Bal Raksha Bharat invites applications for the Health & Nutrition Facilitator – Urban Flagship Programme. Project Brief

The Urban Flagship Programme establishes safe, inclusive and enabling Urban Flagship Centres and extends integrated services into catchment communities, connecting children, adolescents, youth and families to education, health and nutrition, protection, skilling, livelihoods, government services and community-led solutions.

The Centre provides age-appropriate services including career counselling, 21st-century skills, vocational/certification support and linkages with training institutes, employers and other opportunities.

Role Purpose

Plan and facilitate skilling, career awareness and employability activities for adolescents and young people, while supporting referrals and linkages to relevant training, certification, education, employment and livelihood opportunities.

  • Liaise with Community Health Officers, ANMs, ASHAs, Anganwadi Workers, Jan Arogya Samiti members, PRI representatives, VHSNC members, SHG federations and school teachers within the assigned catchment.
  • Mobilise communities for outreach and service uptake through PRI, VHSNC and Self-Help Group platforms across all assigned AAM catchments.
  • Support the AAM team in organizing and conducting VHSND sessions, health melas and outreach camps, including community mobilization, registration and crowd management.
  • Support the roll‑out of SBCC campaigns on maternal health, non‑communicable diseases, adolescent health and WASH; distribute IEC and SBCC materials within the catchment.
  • Support PPP‑driven specialised health camps (eye care, dental and NCD screening) — mobilise eligible beneficiaries, assist with registration and ensure post‑camp follow‑up.
  • Support convergence with the School Health & Wellness Programme (Eat Right movement) — mobilise adolescents for anemia screening and follow up on micronutrient supplementation.
  • Assist frontline workers in updating outreach microplans; help identify underserved and hard‑to‑reach habitations within the catchment.
  • Support identification and referral of pregnant women, under‑5 children showing danger signs, adolescents with suspected anemia and suspected NCD cases to the AAM; follow up to confirm that referrals have been completed.
  • Support Jan Arogya Samiti meetings — inform members, mobilise attendance and assist the Project Coordinator with meeting records.
  • Support the facility team in collecting and displaying patient feedback, and in making entitlements and Citizen Charter information visible to the community.
  • Maintain daily activity records and submit weekly and monthly reach data to the Project Coordinator in the prescribed format, disaggregated by gender wherever applicable.
  • Immediately report any child protection or safeguarding concern to the Project Coordinator in line with BRB’s Child Safeguarding Policy.

Experience

Minimum 2–3 years in Health based support system and hospitals/ANM, GNMs Experience with adolescents/youth is preferred.

Graduate degree in ANM/GNM or BSc Nursing, Psychology, Development Studies, Management, or relevant discipline. Tainting certification is an asset.
