Job summary

The Apeejay Stya University seeks an Assistant Professor in Pharma Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Pharma chemistry in Sohna, Palwal Road. You will evaluate students, participate in curriculum development, and contribute to research activities with the university community.

Required: M.Pharm in Pharma chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry with minimum 60% marks and Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Pharmachemistry and related subjects for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• 2 years teaching experience.
• 3 to 5 years including academic, research and industrial experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach Pharma chemistry as per university curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Create, develop and implement innovative teaching pedagogy to relate industry problems to practical teaching.
• Monitor attendance, progress and assessments of students.
• Prepare reports by evaluating and grading students based on assessments.
• Stay updated with literature and attend FDPs for curriculum enhancement.
• Plan and organize study materials and laboratory experiments.
• Assist students in recruitment and advise on career decisions.
• Continue with research work and publish findings.
• Prepare and submit required budget plans timely.
• Handle academic and administrative duties as assigned by the Dean and SPS.
• Supervise and monitor ongoing laboratory sessions/internships and research.
• Implement updated guidelines to raise curriculum standards.
• Be technically savvy and Moodle friendly.

Summary of Job :

Teach Pharma chemistry for Undergraduate and Post graduate degree courses as per the University curriculum, evaluation and other academic / administrative activities.

Job Responsibilities :

• 1. Teaching and covering the curriculum as designed and outlined by the university by adhering to the rules and regulations
• 2. Creating, developing and implementing innovative teaching pedagogy for better and easy understanding to take industry related problems as practical teaching.
• 3. Monitoring and observing the students attendance, progress and assessments
• 4. Preparing various kinds of reports by evaluating and grading the students based on their assessment
• 5. Keeping in touch with current trends by reading the latest articles published in different magazines or other relevant literature and update his academic delivery accordingly and continuous upgradation by attending FDPs.
• 6. Plan and organize for the availability of different study materials and laboratory experiments.
• 7. To assist the students in the recruitment and also advise them regarding their career decisions
• 8. Should also continue with the research work in the field. He / She should be well-acquainted with and publish it.
• 9. Responsible for timely preparation and submission of the required budget plans
• 10. Responsible for Academic & administrative duties as per the task assigned by the Dean and organise events of SPS
• 11. To timely supervise and monitor on-going laboratory sessions / internships and the research work
• 12. Responsible for implementing the updated guidelines time to time in order to raise the standards of the curriculum.

Job Knowledge (Prerequisites)

Knowledge of Pharmachemistry and related subjects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students of a University or a higher education institutions including colleges under a recognized University.
