1. Position Overview
Chandigarh University invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Professor levels in the area of Cyber Security. The selected candidates will contribute to teaching, research, curriculum development, student mentorship, and academic administration for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs including B.Tech, M.Tech, BCA, MCA, and related courses.
2. Educational Qualifications
- B.Tech in Cyber Security / Computer Science / Information Technology or related discipline from a recognized University.
- M.Tech in Cyber Security / CSE / IT or related specialization.
- Ph.D. in Cyber Security or a closely related area (awarded or submitted per UGC/AICTE norms).
- Additional:
- BCA/MCA (with Cyber Security coursework) with a relevant Cyber Security certification (e.g., CEH, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, OSCP) is an advantage.
Associate Professor
- All qualifications as above, with Ph.D. in Cyber Security (mandatory).
- Proven record of teaching, research, and publications.
Professor
- All qualifications above, with a strong research and publication record.
- Demonstrated leadership in academic programs and research supervision.
3. Experience Requirements
0–5 years of teaching/research/industry experience (fresh Ph.D. holders eligible)
Associate Professor
Minimum 8+ years of combined teaching/research/industry experience including at least 2 years post-Ph.D.
Professor
Minimum 12+ years experience including at least 5 years at Associate Professor level with a proven research track record.
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Teach core and elective courses in Cyber Security and related subjects across UG (B.Tech/BCA) and PG (M.Tech/MCA) programs.
- Conduct lectures, lab sessions, tutorials, seminars, and workshops.
- Develop and revise course materials to reflect current industry trends and cyber security practices.
Research & Scholarly Activities
- Conduct high-quality research resulting in publications in reputed national & international journals and conferences.
- Lead and supervise student research projects, dissertations, and thesis work.
- Prepare research proposals and seek external research funding.
- Mentor students on placements, internships, industry projects, and career development.
- Provide academic advising and support student learning outcomes.
- Contribute to updating and enhancing the Cyber Security curriculum.
- Participate in academic planning and program reviews.
Service & Administration
- Serve on departmental and university committees.
- Participate in accreditation, quality assurance, and academic governance activities.
5. Specialized Areas of Expertise (Preferred)
Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following Cyber Security specializations are highly desirable:
- Network Security & Cryptography
- Ethical Hacking & Penetration Testing
- Secure Software Development & DevSecOps
- Security Auditing & Compliance
- Cyber Law, Policy & Governance
