Job summary

ATA in Mumbai seeks an Assistant Manager Ocean Import to drive end-to-end ocean import operations. The role coordinates with overseas agents, shipping lines, and internal teams to ensure timely documentation, visibility, and customs coordination, while upholding SOPs and KPIs.

The incumbent will manage IGM filings, invoicing, and system updates in VIZIO, with focus on accuracy and timely communication to customers.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related discipline.
• Diploma or certification in Shipping, Logistics, or Freight Forwarding will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end Ocean Import shipments including FCL, LCL, and Sea Cross Trade shipments.
• Prepare and process Import General Manifest (IGM) filings with Shipping Lines, Co-loaders, ODEx Portal, and other platforms.
• Coordinate with overseas agents, ATA offices, shipping lines, and co-loaders for bookings and documents.
• Monitor shipment movement and provide timely shipment milestone updates and alerts.
• Coordinate with customers regarding draft documents, pre-alerts, shipment status, and delivery schedules.
• Work with CHA, transporters, co-loaders to ensure timely customs clearance and cargo delivery.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost optimization while maintaining service quality.

Education

Graduate in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related discipline

Diploma or certification in Shipping, Logistics or Freight Forwarding (added advantage)

The Assistant Manager Ocean Import is responsible for the end-to-end execution of Ocean Import shipments, ensuring seamless coordination with overseas agents, shipping lines, co-loaders, customs brokers, transporters, customers, and internal stakeholders.
