Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. is seeking an experienced engineer to strengthen supplier quality for automotive mechanism and electrical components, including window regulators, door latches, and starter motors. The role focuses on APQP, PPAP, and rigorous process improvements with suppliers.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements, audits, and problem solving using Six Sigma/QC Story methods, ensuring robust manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• BE/B Tech in Mechanical Engg. or Mechatronics Engg.
• 3–7 years experience for BE/B Tech candidates.
• Strong understanding of product and manufacturing processes for automotive motors and mechanism parts.
• Experience with APQP/PPAP and Six Sigma or QC Story preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct supplier audits with corrective actions.
• Address quality issues with cross-functional teams and ensure project alignment.

Job description

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:

• Provide support and involvement in new product development of Mechanism & Electrical components especially Window Regulators, Door Latches, Starter Motors, Alternators, Fuel Dispensing Module, Wiper Motors, Plastic Molding components, Forming (Stamping parts/Press Parts) industry experience - Identifying & driving improvements through early involvement into product development Process and completion of joint PPAP.
• Drive collaboration with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and Product.
• Monitor supplier performance, supplier audits and Corrective Action Plan (SCAP) / G8D etc.
• Collaboration - Work closely with cross functional teams to address quality issues and ensure alignment with overall project goals.
• Ensure lessons learned from product families are shared with platform team for new product development as input for prevention of known issues.
• Daily work management - Daily concern status tracking, Monthly performance monitoring, Timely Analysis of concern.

Develop and ensure implementation of Systems at supplier end:

• Conduct supplier audits and verify compliance with specification and industry standards
• Investigate and resolve quality related issues in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams by using Systematic Approach & Problem solving tools (Six Sigma, QC Story etc.)
• Evaluation of performance and monitor the improvement plan through enhancing technical capabilities and knowledge.

Education Qualification

> BE/B Tech - Mechanical Engg. OR Mechatronics Engg.

General Experience

> 3 ~ 7 years for BE/B Tech Candidates

Critical Experience

Strong understanding of product and manufacturing process of automotive Motors (Like - Starter Motors, Alternators..), Mechanism parts (Window Regulators, Door Latches, Wiper Motors, FDM..)
Manufacturing process knowledge for Advance manufacturing technologies for various Assembly Processes, surface treatment, Motors special processes and testing methods.
Prefererable to have process knowledge and product application knowledge of Motors - Starter, Alternator, Wiper, Actuators etc.
Experience in Manufacturing process development, process audits, quality/problem solving tools, APQP/PPAP
Problem solving methodology through Six Sigma / QC Story is preferable.
Daily Work management and collaborative work with Plant CFT & Suppliers.
