Job summary

ABB Motion in Vadodara, India, seeks an experienced Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations, drive cost-effective production, and meet quality and delivery targets. You will manage plant equipment, personnel, and processes, develop programs, goals, and metrics to raise operational performance while optimizing working capital.

The role requires 8–12 years in manufacturing, a degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering, and a track record of coaching teams and upholding ABB values

Qualifications

• 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in manufacturing and production operations.
• Full-time engineering in Electrical or Mechanical background.
• Provides guidance to the teams and coaching/mentoring.
• Ensures integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics.

Production Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure efficient and cost-effective production results. Each day, you will be responsible to meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level). You will also showcase your expertise by developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.

This role is contributing to Motion business for High Power division based in Vadodara, India

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Preparing annual production budget, overseeing progress, and determining actions to cost issues as necessary to manage operations within the budget and resources.
• Developing and executing plans to reduce non-value-added costs, increase revenues, and delight customers by delivering products on time with high factory and supplier yields and decreasing product field failure rates.
• Ensuring that Four Quadrants (4Q) program training and methods are implemented in the organization.
• Providing support as required, during customer visits to explain the capabilities of the manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications for the role

• 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in manufacturing and production operations, including leadership responsibility for production management, operational excellence, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement
• Full-time engineering in Electrical or Mechanical background.
• Provides guidance to the teams and seeks knowledge for their own development and coaching/mentoring of the teams.
• Ensures integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities across all teams in scope.
