Position: Assistant Manager Global Payroll & Treasury

Location: Mumbai, India (with scope covering India, Mexico & US operations)

Department: Finance

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for India, Mexico, and US employees, ensuring accurate and timely salary disbursements.
• Validate payroll inputs including attendance, leave, overtime, and variable pay as registered by HR.
• Initiate payments for monthly salaries and full & final settlements, covering earnings, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, incentives, and final settlements.
• Administer statutory payroll components such as PF, ESI, Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), and TDS.
• Ensure compliance with Indian payroll laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Generate and review payroll reports, salary registers, variance reports, and reconciliation statements.
• Coordinate with Finance, HR, employees, and payroll vendors to resolve discrepancies and employee queries.

Payroll Finance & Accounting

• Prepare payroll-related journal entries and accounting adjustments in line with financial controls.
• Support General Ledger and Record-to-Report (R2R) activities related to payroll transactions.
• Provide data for actuarial valuation of gratuity and leave encashment in coordination with HR and consultants.
• Ensure accurate accounting of accruals (bonus, leave encashment, gratuity) and reporting of payroll expenses, deductions, liabilities, and funding transactions.
• Utilize NetSuite & Zoho Books for payroll accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Support statutory, internal, and US GAAP audits (10K, 10Q), providing relevant data and resolving auditor queries.

Treasury, Cash & Liquidity Management

• Prepare and review payroll funding requirements for India, Mexico, and US payroll cycles (including intercompany transfers).
• Support cash positioning and liquidity planning by tracking payroll requirements and scheduled cash movements.
• Manage ACH and Wire payment processing, including validation, tracking, and exception resolution.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations, investigate cash breaks, and ensure timely clearance of outstanding items.
• Prepare and maintain cash flow reports for management review.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of payroll operations across India. Knowledge of payroll of Mexico, and US is an advantage.
• Familiarity with statutory compliance requirements (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS).
• Proficiency in financial accounting systems (NetSuite, Zoho Books).
• Experience in treasury operations, cash management, and liquidity planning.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage cross-border payroll complexities.
• Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (Masters preferred).
• 57 years of experience in payroll operations, treasury, or accounting, with exposure to multi-country payroll.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and statutory audit processes is an advantage.
