Job summary

Lead Hr Services seeks an Assistant Manager - Metallurgy to plan and manage the Metallurgy lab, ensuring SOPs and standards are met. The role includes supporting new product development, reviewing quality issues, budgeting for the lab, and delivering quality improvement projects.

The incumbent will supervise the Metallurgy team and oversee lab processes, equipment and documentation to ensure accurate material testing for raw materials and new products.

Qualifications

• Responsible for planning and managing the Metallurgy lab and ensuring SOP compliance.
• Plan, support and contribute to new product development via analysis and testing.
• Review quality issues and drive RCA/CAPA for corrective actions.
• Support budget planning and systems for the metallurgy lab.
• Prepare and review lab documentation and reports.
• Drive quality improvement projects and supervise the Metallurgy team.
• Oversee processes, equipment and staff in the metallurgy lab.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the Metallurgy lab operations and ensure SOP adherence.
• Support new product development with material analysis and testing.
• Investigate quality issues using RCA and implement CAPA.
• Assist in budgeting and lab systems maintenance.
• Prepare lab documentation and reports for quality records.
• Lead quality improvement projects and mentor the metallurgy team.

Role & responsibilities

Assistant Manager - Metallurgy

1. Responsible for planning and managing the Metallurgy lab and monitoring all activities therein to ensure adherence to the defined SOPs and standards.

2. Plan, support and contribute to new product development by way of analysis and testing of new product / material.

3. Review quality issues and non conformances and ensure resolution activities like Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) .

4. Provide support in preparation of the budget, plan and systems for the metallurgy lab

5.Ensure preparation of and review documentation and reports pertaining to metallurgy lab

6. Carry out activities for implementation and delivery of quality improvement projects

7. Supervise and guide the Metallurgy team

Key Purpose

The Metallurgy Incharge is responsible for planning for and managing the processes, equipment and instruments at the Metallurgy Lab to ensure material property testing for raw material / new product. Implementing the quality standards and procedures, managing the metallurgy inspection process and overseeing the team is vital to the role.
