Job summary

DHR Holding India is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the on-site Bengaluru - BDC team. You will design and re-design hardware components and contribute to development of new products and support manufacturing activities.

The role reports to the Manager - Mechanical Engineering and involves end-to-end hardware development, design verification, risk mitigation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve issues across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Must have a mechanical engineering degree and 5 years of design experience.
• Proficient with SolidWorks CAD and simulation tools.
• Experience documenting CAD models, drawings, specs, and test plans.
• Knowledge of FEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T.

Job Summary

Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and re-design of certain hardware components and the development of new products, on-market products and support manufacturing activities. This position reports to the Manager - Mechanical Engineering and is part of the RD Hardware/Systems Development team located in Bengaluru - BDC and will be an on-site role.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions to improve performance, safety, reliability, throughput and cost-effectiveness.
• Act as a change lead, managing the entire Design change process independently.
• Handle multiple projects with proper project planning and minimal guidance
• Own hardware development from concept to release, including design verification and risk mitigation.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product issues. Collaborate with cross function teams to resolve manufacturing and field issues, conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews and validate designs through analysis and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field with 5 years of experience in mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software and simulation tools.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining detailed engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, specifications and test plans.
• Knowledge of dFMEA/pFMEA, DFX, FEA, Tolerance Stack-up Analysis and GDT
• Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and complex engineering investigations
• Competence in test plan and report writing
• Basic knowledge of materials, fluid handling techniques, pneumatic systems, and thermal control.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical part fabrication and rapid prototyping methods.
• Experience in product lifecycle management, Execution of Design changes and documentation.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with medical device regulations (FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601)
• Experience in IVD instrumentation, such as clinical chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, urinalysis, molecular, microbiology or flow cytometry systems is a plus
• Advanced certification in CAD tools
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Prior work experience in Electro-Mechanical products, Robotics and Automation
