Job summary

Hyosung T&D India Private Limited in Pune invites an Assistant Manager Energy Distribution to lead quality control for MV GIS manufacturing, perform inspections, and drive continuous improvement. You will coordinate with production and engineering, ensure compliance with international standards, and manage CAPAs while reporting KPIs to management. A strong background in MV switchgear and Lean Six Sigma is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Medium Voltage switchgear testing.
• BE / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in quality management and Lean Six Sigma.
• GIS experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MV AIS/GIS products.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement Quality Control Plans for MV GIS manufacturing and assembly.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to detect welding defects and deviations.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, ISO and customer specifications and Hyosung procedures.
• Conduct audits at supplier works and project sites per ITPs and project needs.
• Drive CAPA activities and improve processes with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain quality documentation and report performance to management.
• Monitor KPIs and support decision-making with data analysis.
• Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure vendor conformity.

Job Description

• Establish and implement Quality Control Plans (QCP) for MV GIS manufacturing and assembly in line with Hyosung global quality systems and project requirements. Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of tank assemblies to detect welding defects, component deviations, and assembly non-conformities.
• Ensure strict compliance with IEC, ISO, and applicable international standards, customer technical specifications, and Hyosung internal quality procedures.
• Perform quality inspections and audits at supplier works and project sites, as per approved inspection and test plans (ITP) and project needs.
• Analyse manufacturing and inspection data to identify quality trends and root causes of defects. Coordinate with production, engineering, and cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Hyosung Operational Excellence through structured methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
• Maintain and control quality documentation including process documents, inspection records, test reports, non-conformance reports, and audit findings, and periodically report quality performance to management.
• Monitor, analyse, and present key quality performance indicators (KPIs) to management to support performance review and decision-making.
• Manage non-conformance through systematic documentation and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in accordance with Hyosung quality processes.
• Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues, improve material standards, and ensure compliance with approved specifications and vendor quality requirements.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, RoHS, and other applicable statutory, regulatory, and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Ensure HSE and business compliance requirements are implemented and followed in accordance with Hyosung global and local policies, standards, tools, and procedures for manufacturing operations and project execution.

Requirements

• Experience: 8 years in the field of Medium Voltage switchgear Testing
• Qualification: BE / B.Tech / Electrical
• Skills :
• Demonstrated experience in quality management, technology transfer, product development, Lean Six Sigma, process audits, documentation, and standardization, with over 8 years of experience in MV Switchgear. Experience in GIS would be preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of medium voltage AIS/GIS products.
• Proven experience in engineering and quality functions. Field service experience with MV GIS is an added advantage.
• A Diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering with relevant industry experience.
