Job summary

SV Management Consultants invites applications for Assistant Manager/ Dy. Manager – Supply Chain Management (Raw Material Procurement) to formulate, execute, and monitor monthly RM planning and scheduling.

You will align material availability with production targets, collaborate with Production, Stores, Quality and Finance, and coordinate with steel mills and job-work vendors for seamless RM supply. The role emphasizes cost optimization, VA/VE initiatives, and maintaining optimal inventory

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical engineering or a graduate degree.
• 9 to 13 years of work experience in procurement / supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Develop monthly RM procurement and scheduling plans.
• Align inventory levels with production targets and minimize material ageing.
• Manage daily communication with steel mills and job-work vendors to ensure uninterrupted RM supply.
• Coordinate with Finance to handle payments and vendor reconciliations; ensure timely mill payments.
• Drive VA/VE initiatives and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).

Purpose of the Position

Formulate, execute, and monitor the monthly Raw Material (RM) planning and scheduling cycle. Ensure seamless material availability aligned with production targets while optimizing inventory levels.

Position Context

Collaborate across cross-functional teams including Production, Stores, Quality, and Finance. Act as the primary liaison with steel mills and job-work vendors to synchronize the supply chain network.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. Material Planning & Scheduling

• Develop monthly RM procurement schedules.
• Align inventory levels with production plans.
• Conduct daily RM shortage reviews proactively.
• Minimize material ageing at the stores.

2. Supplier & Job-Work Management

• Manage daily communication with steel mills.
• Coordinate smooth, uninterrupted raw material supplies.
• Create and execute job-work material plans.
• Reconcile job-work data monthly and quarterly.
• Execute physical stock verifications at vendor locations.

3. Financial & Vendor Administration

• Prepare and submit mill payment requests.
• Coordinate with Finance to prevent payment delays.
• Complete mill-wise material receipt reconciliations.
• Compute and publish monthly vendor ratings.

4. Cost Optimization & Value Engineering

• Drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE).
• Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives.
• Optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
