Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking a Data Engineer in Mumbai to help build, maintain, and automate data ingestion pipelines from diverse automotive sources, leveraging GCP tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc.

You will clean, transform, and model complex datasets for data science, BI dashboards, and analytics use cases, collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to deliver production-ready datasets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related engineering discipline.

• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills to debug pipelines and resolve data anomalies.
• Eagerness to learn new cloud methodologies, frameworks, and tools.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical complexities to cross-functional stakeholders.

Assist in building, maintaining, and automating robust data ingestion pipelines from diverse automotive data sources.

Work directly with core Google Cloud data tools including BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Dataproc, and Cloud Storage.

Clean, transform, and model complex datasets to optimize them for data science models, business intelligence dashboards, and analytics use cases.

Partner with data scientists, business analysts, and digital product teams to understand data requirements and deliver production-ready datasets.

• Data Quality & Governance: Implement validation checks to ensure data integrity, accuracy, security, and compliance across all delivery layers.

Programming Foundations:

Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.

Excellent command over SQL syntax, relational database design, query optimization, and data warehousing concepts.

Fundamental understanding of cloud computing principles. Hands-on projects or academic exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly preferred.

Familiarity with big data concepts, ETL/ELT processes, or data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) is a major plus.
