Job summary

USV in Mumbai seeks a Finance-Operations professional to bridge Finance and Operations with deep SAP S4 HANA CO expertise. You will own costing, overhead allocation, and gross margin analysis, supporting pricing decisions and cost-reduction initiatives in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Key duties include maintaining cost records, assisting cost audits, and collaborating with plant, procurement, planning, and finance teams to deliver timely, accurate cost data and actionable insights.

Role Objective

This role will be an interface between Finance and Operations. It will have the technical skill of S4 HANA (CO Module and COPA operations). He/She will be responsible for accurate product costing and overhead allocation in SAP and Gross Margin analysis and material reconciliation. He/She will have to work on various cost reduction projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Costing (API & Formulation Costing): Analysing all cost heads in the SAP report including plant overheads break up, RM, PM, and other variable + fixed costs. Maintain and update API and FDF costing files. Understanding cost behavior to support the pricing team with the appropriate cost required to acquire new business.

Measurement Criteria: Timely, accurate, and realistic.

• Pricing: Bottom-up working on pricing sheets to arrive at the quote price for the customer to acquire the business and ensure long-term profitability. Collaborate closely with business teams on volumes, order criteria, and specific customer asks.

Measurement Criteria: Based on business requirements.

• Cost Audit: Independently maintain all cost records for selected plants and ensure they are thoroughly audited by the cost auditors.

Measurement Criteria: Complete successfully by 31st May of every year.

• Cost Reduction Initiatives: Work alongside the Cross-Functional Team (CFT) on various cost reduction initiatives to improve overall profitability and customer acquisition.

Measurement Criteria: Profitable growth.

Type of Interaction: Internal

• Interaction with: Team Leaders & Members within the function, as well as R&D teams, Manufacturing plants, Procurement, Planning, and Marketing teams outside the function.

• Nature of Interaction: Routine communication in connection with instructions, requests, or work tasks. Providing regular updates, key inputs, and seeking swift resolutions. Pro-actively working across departments to gather timely and relevant information.

• Interaction with: Cost auditors and statutory auditors.

• Nature of Interaction: Directly addressing and resolving Cost Audit queries.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Professional Experience and Relevant Skills

• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience required. Proven track record in Costing & Manufacturing business finance, preferably from a reputed Indian Pharmaceutical Company.

• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly comfortable collaborating across leadership levels to deliver on core business outcomes. Competent in communicating detailed reports with internal stakeholders, including middle management at manufacturing plants, the finance team, and the supply chain.

• Technical Expertise: High proficiency in S4 HANA - CO module. Deep expertise in Costing, Overheads allocation, and COPA operations within the Pharmaceuticals Industry or Consumer domain.
