Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Finance professional to drive project-level financial performance. You will oversee revenue recognition, margins, billing, collections, and working capital while coordinating with project managers, operations, procurement, and treasury.

You will develop short- and long-term cash flow forecasts, prepare periodic performance reports, and contribute to budgeting, Capex oversight, and cost control to support profitability and liquidity.

Qualifications

• Experience in revenue recognition, margin tracking and project-level financial controls.
• Ability to prepare cash flow forecasts and short/long-term cash flow reports.
• Experience with overhead, Capex budgeting, and provision accounting.
• Collaborates with project managers, operations, procurement, treasury and finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor revenue recognition, gross margin, contribution margin, billing schedules, and customer collections at project/job level.
• Track working capital across receivables, payables, inventory, and advances; support liquidity improvements.
• Prepare short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts; monitor actual cash flow against projections.
• Support treasury activities related to cash planning, banking, and fund management.
• Review project budgets, actual costs, commitments, and resource utilization to protect profitability.
• Identify project risks and cost overruns; coordinate corrective actions with project managers.
• Perform variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods; present findings to management.
• Prepare annual overhead budgets; monitor overhead spending and allocations.
• Prepare Capex budgets and track spend vs approvals.
• Calculate and book overhead recovery; assist month-end and year-end closing.
• Record provisions for goods in transit, subcontractor liabilities, and overhead accruals.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual performance notes, reports and dashboards with commentary.

Job description

This role is focused on managing financial performance across projects and supporting core business finance activities. The scope covers revenue recognition, margin tracking, billing, collections, working capital, cash flow, overhead control, capital expenditure, and provision accounting.

The position works closely with project managers, operations, procurement, treasury, and finance teams to maintain financial control and provide timely reporting. Its purpose is to support profitability, liquidity, and informed decision-making through accurate analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• – Monitor revenue recognition, gross margin, contribution margin, billing schedules, and customer collections at project/job level.
• – Track working capital across receivables, payables, inventory, and advances, and support improvements in cash conversion cycles and liquidity.
• – Prepare short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts, monitor actual cash flow against projections, and prepare Net Cash Flow (NCF) reports.
• – Support treasury activities related to cash planning, banking, and fund management.
• – Review project budgets, actual costs, commitments, resource utilization, and milestones to support project profitability and control.
• – Identify project risks, cost overruns, and corrective actions in coordination with project managers.
• – Perform variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods; investigate major deviations and present findings to management.
• – Prepare annual overhead budgets, monitor overhead spending, and support indirect cost allocation and control.
• – Prepare and monitor capital expenditure budgets, evaluate Capex proposals, and track actual spend against approvals.
• – Calculate and book overhead recovery, reconcile recovered amounts to actual costs, and support month-end and year-end closing.
• – Review and record provisions for goods in transit (GIT), subcontractor liabilities, and overhead accruals.
• – Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual performance notes, reports, and dashboards with commentary on financial and operational performance.
