Job summary

Tata Ficosa Automotive Systems is seeking an Assistant Manager Manufacturing Engineering to lead plant digitization initiatives, MES implementation, electronics integration, and Industry 4.0 projects to boost manufacturing visibility, productivity, quality, traceability, and overall efficiency.

This role combines Manufacturing Engineering, Electronics, Automation, and Data Analytics with a focus on IoT, PLC, SCADA, and ERP interfaces to support the company’s digital transformation roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital transformation projects across manufacturing operations.
• Develop and implement paperless manufacturing systems.
• Drive real-time production monitoring and digital shopfloor management.
• Implement smart factory initiatives including IoT-enabled devices and connected manufacturing systems.
• Develop digital workflows for production, quality, maintenance, and logistics processes.
• Support implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies and smart manufacturing solutions.
• Lead MES implementation, enhancement, and sustainment activities.
• Define MES requirements in coordination with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and IT teams.
• Coordinate with system integrator to Configure and maintain: Production tracking
• Work order management
• Operator traceability
• Machine connectivity
• Quality data collection
• Electronic work instructions
• Ensure successful integration of MES with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Develop dashboards and reports for production KPIs.
• Support implementation of electronics-based manufacturing & testing solutions.
• Interface with PLCs, HMIs, Industrial PCs, barcode scanners, sensors, and vision systems.
• Lead machine connectivity and data acquisition projects.
• Support automated testing and traceability systems.
• Coordinate with automation vendors during installation and commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot electronics and communication-related manufacturing issues.
• Coordinate with suppliers for equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Manage manufacturing engineering projects within budget and timeline.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, SCM, and R&D.
• Lead digitization, MES, and automation projects from concept to implementation.
• Prepare project charters, timelines, budgets, and ROI analysis.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Production, IT, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Corporate Digital Teams
• Ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and customer requirements.
• Implement electronic traceability systems.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Support implementation of EHS requirements and safe manufacturing practices.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and company standards.

Job description

The Assistant Manager Manufacturing Engineering will lead plant digitization initiatives, Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementation, electronics integration, and Industry 4.0 projects to improve manufacturing visibility, productivity, quality, traceability, and overall operational efficiency. The role requires a strong combination of Manufacturing Engineering, Electronics, Automation, and Data Analytics expertise, with a focus on Industry 4.0, Automation, Digitization, IoT, PLC, SCADA, MES Integration and advanced technologies to support the digital transformation roadmap of the organization.

Manufacturing Digitization & Industry 4.0

• Lead digital transformation projects across manufacturing operations.
• Develop and implement paperless manufacturing systems.
