• Experience leading surface finishing operations in manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Surface Finishing operations across all production lines.
• Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Improve OEE and line productivity.
• Drive continuous improvement in throughput and operational efficiency.
• Ensure process capability and consistency through SPC and process controls.
• Optimize chemical consumption and process parameters.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma projects.
• Mentor engineers, supervisors, and operators; develop technical competency.

Position: AGM / DGM Surface Finishing

Department: Manufacturing – Surface Finishing

Reporting To: Plant Head

Location: Prithla, Haryana

Position Summary

The AGM/DGM – Surface Finishing will be responsible for leading the complete Surface

Finishing function, ensuring high-quality coating processes that meet customer, and OEM

standards. The role will oversee plating, phosphating, zinc flake coating, blackening,

passivation, cleaning, ETP operations, and process improvements while ensuring

productivity, quality, safety, environmental compliance, and cost optimization.

The incumbent will drive operational excellence through process standardization,

automation, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

• Lead end-to-end Surface Finishing operations across all production lines.
• Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and line productivity.
• Ensure adherence to production schedules in coordination with PPC.
• Monitor line balancing and optimize manpower utilization.
• Drive continuous improvement in throughput and operational efficiency.

Process Management

• Manage all surface finishing processes including:
• Zinc Electroplating
• Zinc Nickel Plating
• Mechanical Plating
• Zinc Flake Coating
• Phosphating
• Black Oxide
• Cleaning & Degreasing
• Passivation
• Drying & Baking
• Hydrogen De-embrittlement
• Ensure process capability and consistency through SPC and process controls.
• Optimize chemical consumption and process parameters.

Quality Management

• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and international standards.
• Reduce plating defects including:
• Peeling
• Blistering
• Burning
• Poor adhesion
• Rust failures
• Thickness variation
• White rust
• Red rust
• Drive reduction in rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
• Support PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and Control Plan activities.
• Participate in customer audits and certification audits.

Environmental, Health & Safety

• Ensure statutory compliance related to environmental regulations.
• Oversee efficient operation of:
• ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant)
• STP (if applicable)
• Chemical handling systems
• Hazardous waste disposal
• Ensure compliance with Pollution Control Board norms.
• Promote safe handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.

Maintenance & Asset Management

• Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance of plating equipment.
• Improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Monitor utilities consumption including:
• Electricity
• Water
• Compressed Air
• Steam
• Drive TPM initiatives.

Continuous Improvement

• Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Drive Kaizen and Six Sigma projects.
• Improve:
• First Pass Yield (FPY)
• Right First Time (RFT)
• OEE
• Productivity
• Cost per component
• Implement automation and digital monitoring systems wherever feasible.

Cost Optimization

• Control chemical consumption.
• Reduce coating cost per component.
• Improve chemical bath life.
• Reduce water and energy consumption.
• Optimize consumables and plating material utilization.

Team Management

• Lead and mentor engineers, supervisors, shift in-charges, and operators.
• Develop technical competency within the team.
• Conduct performance reviews and training programs.
• Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical
• Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
• Postgraduate qualification in Operations or Manufacturing Management will be an
• added advantage.
