Job summary

WSP in India is seeking a Bridge Design Engineer to support feasibility studies, design and verification of strengthening works for bridges in line with UK standards.

The role involves performing design checks, preparing drawings and reports within deadlines, and adhering to QA/CDM guidelines while using WSP templates and tools such as MIDAS, LUSAS and ARCHIE.

WSP India requires adherence to local regulations and project deadlines while delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair.
• Prepare new bridge design and strengthening design to UK standards, ensuring compliance with design, health and safety standards and WSP WoW procedures.
• Carry out design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.
• Prepare or assist others in compiling drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence within given deadlines, ensuring compliance with the project brief.
• Follow QA, document control, archiving and CDM guidelines on all work.
• Ensure correct implementation of document control and QA processes for issue, filing and archiving of all work.
• Produce work to specified WSP design standards and suggest revisions to standards as appropriate, ensuring all relevant standards and guides are used in accordance with UK Design standards and WSP QA processes (WoW).
• Ensure compliance with AIP or other project requirements.
• Use WSP calculation templates and ensure calculation sheets comply with WSP standards.
• Use WSP Technical Library and Information Systems to assist design work.
• Ensure only the latest version (unless specifically required by AIP) of British and European standards is used.
