Job summary

HSBC in Bangalore invites an experienced Assistant Director, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence to lead analytics initiatives across markets. You will act as SME on fraud analytics, design models and risk typologies, mentor teams and partner with business units to drive data-driven decisions.

The role requires 7–10 years of hands-on analytics, strong statistical and ML skills, and familiarity with cloud analytics platforms.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of hands-on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputed university in statistics, economics or a quantitative field.
• Experience with Looker, QlikSense, Tableau or other data visualization tools.
• Minimum 7 years of experience using statistical concepts and/or machine learning models.
• Understanding of financial-services/banking operations preferred.
• Proficiency in programming tools such as SAS, SQL, BigQuery, Python.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Director, Data and Analytics.

In this role, you will:

• Act as an SME/consultant on a functional area, conceptualise analytical solution for the business problem at hand for multiple businesses/region

• Partner with the business effectively to drive data driven decisions and generate value.

• Being part of the IWPB Fraud Analytics team the candidate needs to deliver and deploy suit of Fraud controls across markets by designing Fraud and Risk typologies and building Anomaly detection models ,rules and graph network solutions .The candidate needs to work closely with multiple stakeholders and teams to drive the solutions to implementation. The candidate should exhibit : Proven expertise in using statistical / ML algorithms for solving diverse business challenges and creating significant business value
• Knowledge and exposure to cloud analytics platform such as GCP, AWS Redshift , Azure etc. will be preferred
• Prior hands‑on experience in Banking domain and Fraud/Financial Crime tools and platforms will be preferred

To be successful you will:

• 7 to 10 years of hands‑on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data. Ability to convert business problem to an analytical problem.
• Bachelors/ Masters degree from reputed university in statistics, economics or any other quantitative fields
• Experience with Looker, Qliksense, Tableau or other data visualization tools
• Minimum 7 years of experience of using statistical concepts and (or) machine learning models to solve complex business problems
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from reputed university with specialization in numerical discipline engineering specializations. Understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations preferred.
• Good knowledge of programming tools, preferably with proficiency in any one or combination of tools such as SAS, SQL, Big query, Python
• Knowledge and exposure to cloud analytics platform such as GCP, AWS Redshift , Azure etc. would be a plus but not mandatory
