Job summary

WSP India is seeking a capable environmental consultant to join the Ground and Water team in Noida/Bengaluru. You will support Phase 1 desk studies and Phase 2 contaminated land assessments, interpreting data and delivering reporting under supervision.

The role involves UK-based project coordination, with on-site site work in India as needed, and growth toward senior consultancy responsibilities in geo-environmental work.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering related discipline.
  • Master’s degree desirable with focus on Environment.
  • Experience in Environmental Site Assessments and Contaminated Land remediation.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional person to add to our Ground and Water (Contaminated Land) team in our Noida/Bengaluru, India office. You will have at least 2 years’ post-graduate experience in understanding ground conditions, preferably undertaking Phase 1 geo-environmental (land contamination) desk study assessments, and Phase 2 contaminated land risk assessments, data interpretation and reporting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of projects working closely with and being supported by other team members, Project Managers and Directors within the UK team.

The position would suit someone with experience in the contaminated land sector who would like to further develop their technical consultancy skills and is looking to take the next step in their career.

With most of our site work being UK based, this role will be limited to the office, however if projects sites are in India, time on site would be required to undertake site investigations, sampling and monitoring.

Responsibilities
  • Communicating and liaising effectively and efficiently with the UK Ground and Water project team (team members, project managers and directors).
  • Undertaking of desk-based research to understand the geo-environmental site setting, identify potential sources of contamination from former land uses and development of conceptual site models.
  • Review and screening of datasets, and interpretation of the data.
  • Preparing reports under supervision of senior team.

Desired Skills
  • Experience in understanding ground conditions, preferably Phase1 geo-environmental (land contamination) desk study assessments and Phase 2 contaminated land risk assessments, data interpretation and reporting.
  • Day-to-day delivery of projects working closely with and being supported by other team members, project managers and directors within the UK team.
  • Undertaking of desk-based research to understand the geo-environmental site setting, identify potential sources of contamination from former land uses and development of conceptual site models.
  • Review and screening of datasets, and interpretation of the data.
  • Preparation of reports.
  • Data presentation in range of software products including MS Office applications, gNIT, Open Ground, AutoCAD, QGIS/ArcGIS would be advantageous.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering related discipline: for example Environmental Geoscience, Environmental Engineering or Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with focus on Environment related work.
  • Master’s degree in environmental science or engineering related discipline (or similar subject) desirable with focus on Environment.
  • Experience working with Environmental Consultancy or any other company conducting Environmental Site Assessments and Contaminated Land Remediation.
BGV
