Job summary

WSP India is seeking a senior civil/environmental engineer to lead delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from Bengaluru. The role involves coordinating with UK PMs, ensuring scope, budget and timelines, and driving digital delivery and technical excellence.

The ideal candidate will have 12–15 years of UK water industry experience, ICE/CIWEM accreditation, and strong CAD/BIM design review skills. International travel for training and project delivery may be required.

Qualifications

• M.Tech, MS or BE in Civil/ Chemical/ Environmental Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 12–15 years’ experience in projects for UK Water Industry.
• ICE or CIWEM accreditation.
• Experience in planning and design of water and wastewater treatment plants.
• Understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure and hydraulics.
• Clear tech understanding of UK Water Industry standards.
• Experience reviewing CAD/BIM drawings (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Plant 3D).

• Work as part of WSP’s UK iCRC Water team in Bengaluru.
• Lead the technical delivery of a range of projects relating to water and wastewater infrastructure works from Bengaluru office.
• Lead day to day liaison with our UK PMs and engineers to ensure project deliverables are developed in accordance with client scope, budget, timescales and quality requirements.
• Drive innovation and digital delivery culture to the next level.
• Support the Team Leader with resource and other management duties.
• Support technical development of Engineers, Technicians and Graduates.
• Carryout checks and reviews of projects, assuring quality delivery right first time.

Responsibilities

• Excellent command of written and verbal English.
• Candidate should have a clear and demonstrable technical understanding of standards and norms pertaining to UK Water Industry.
• Problem solving and originality.
• Computer literate, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Successful candidate will be a dynamic, self‑motivated individual who will take on a Leadership role in project work, focused on delivery to the client and technical excellence. The role requires management of several projects and becoming involved in design at an early stage. The ability to plan and design deliverables against UK engineering standards for each stage of a project is a pre‑requisite and training and guidance will be provided where necessary.

• High degree of self‑motivation and ability to motivate others.
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum of supervision.
• Accountable and see the big picture of the project to achieve the best result for the client

Qualifications

• M.Tech, Master of Science (MS) or bachelor’s degree (BE) in Civil/ Chemical/ Environmental Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
• 12 to 15 years’ experience preferably based on delivering projects to the UK Water Industry.
• Professional accreditation from ICE or CIWEM.
• Experience working on planning and design of water and wastewater treatment plants projects is a plus.
• Clear understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure design concepts, treatment process and related hydraulics.
• Candidate should have clear and demonstrable technical understanding of standards and norms specific to UK Water Industry.
• Strong experience reviewing design drawings developed by CAD/BIM Technicians on software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and Plant 3D.
