Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking an Assembly Automation Engineer-Sr MFG & Process DVL Engineer in Bangalore to drive manufacturing process development for new products. You will work with global teams to select equipment and define assembly methods, while leading PFMEA and coordinating tool builds.

Ideal candidates hold a Bac+5 in Automation/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, with strong knowledge of assembly technology, DFA/DFM, and PLC/test programming.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (Bac+5) with specialization in Automation, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in assembly technology, mechanical design, automation, PLC and test programming.
• Experience in development of customized machinery.
• LEAN manufacturing knowledge and continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong written and spoken English skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes/equipment/specifications for new products (NPI).
• Coordinate with PJM, PE, Plant, Procurement, Cost Accounting and Quality.
• Configure equipment and processes for cost-effective serial assembly.
• Lead PFMEA for processes under development.
• Oversee tool/equipment build stages with global supplier base.
• Provide samples and measurement reports to PE for evaluation.

Job Overview

In the function as Process Development Engineer you are part of the projekt teams for New Produkt Introduction (NPI). Main responsibility is the development of the needed manufacturing processes / equipment / specitications for the project/product.

The internal interfaces are Projectlead (PJM), Product Engineering (PE), Plant, Procurement, Cost Accounting and Quality. Contact external will be mainly manufacturing plants and/or suppliers.

Job Requirements

• Support Product Engineering to optimize Design for manufacturing (DFM) & Design for Assembly (DFA)
• Create concept and specification for request of serial assembly (manual, semi-automatic, full-automatic) in cooperation with the responsible team member
• Configuration of the best possible equipment / processes to create cost calculation for managment presentation/decision
• RfQ for pilot equipment
• Follow up of cost, timing and quality in NPI or strategic projects
• Lead the PFMEA fir process under development
• Control of progress steps during tool / equipment build phase (global supply base)
• Provide samples and measurement report to PE for evaluation
• Check of tool / equipment for release acc. Specification
• Run Acceptance test (at supplier / plant) of the equipment for release acc. Specification (R@R)

What your background should look like

• Hold an engineering degree ( Bac+5) with a specialization in Automation, Industrial, or mechanical Engineering
• Experience and knowledge in the field of assembly technology (Mechanical Design / Automation / PLC programming / Test programming)
• Experience and knowledge in the development of customized machine.
• Knowledge of molding or stamping is a plus
• Extensive understanding of LEAN manufacturing processes
• Experience in project management
• Customer orientation and high level of commitment
• Willingness to drive continuous improvements
• Very good oral and written communication skills in English
