Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services invites applications for an AS400/ RPGLE developer with 2+ years of experience. You will work on CLP/RPGLE in commercial applications across the full development life cycle.

The role requires strong knowledge of AS400 technologies (RPGLE, CLLE, DB2), ILE concepts, and experience in unit testing, SIT and UAT coordination, and English communication in a multi-cultural setup.

Qualifications

• 2+ years development experience on CLP/RPG/RPGLE in commercial apps.
• Extensive knowledge of AS400 tech: RPGLE, CLLE, DB2; ILE and modular programming.
• Experience in estimation, unit testing, and coordinating SIT/UAT.
• Proficiency in English and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop CLP/RPG/RPGLE on AS400 across full development life cycle.
• Write comprehensive unit tests and plans; coordinate SIT/UAT with vendors.
• Troubleshoot during development phases; ensure timely, quality deliveries.

Job description

Skill: AS400/ RPGLE

Location: Pan India

Years of Experience: 2+ years

Must Have:

1. Minimum 2 - 9 years of development industry experience with exposure to complete life cycle of development at least once on CLP/RPG/RPGLE on commercial applications.
2. Extensive Knowledge of AS400 technology (RPGLE, CLLE, DB2), ILE which also means working knowledge of modular programming in ILE-RPG including Modules, Service Programs etc.
3. Appreciation and knowledge of effort estimation, Unit Testing. Should be experienced in writing comprehensive Unit Test Cases / Plans. Able to execute & coordinate SIT & UAT with another vendor and Project Implementation.
4. Knowledge of troubleshooting during various phases of development.
5. Reasonable working experience of coding new (and changing) complex CL programs.
6. Knowledge of DB2 concepts and associated methodologies.
7. Should have good English communication and experience in multi culture work environment.

Good-to-Have:

• Experience in Insurance domain (preferred in Life insurance domain)
