Job summary

Dataflix is seeking an AS400 Developer with 5+ years of experience to develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. You will translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

The role focuses on developing RPG/RPGLE, CL/CLLE, SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400 applications, writing optimized SQL, and providing production support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of AS400/IBM i development and production support.
• Experience with RPG/400, RPG IV, RPGLE/ILE RPG, including free-format RPG.
• Hands-on with CL/400/CLLE, SQL/400, SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400.
• Experience in analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, maintenance, and production support.
• Knowledge of IBM i utilities: PDM, SEU, SDA, RLU, DFU, or RDi.
• Understanding of subfiles, display files, data areas, batch jobs, and job monitoring.
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Analyzebusiness requirements, change requests, and existing AS400 programs to definetechnical solutions and impact.
  
• Develop,modify, enhance, and maintain applications using RPG/RPGLE, CL/CLLE, SQLRPGLE,and DB2/400.
  
• Writeand optimise embedded SQL, queries, stored procedures, and database operationson IBM i.\
  
• Performcoding, debugging, unit testing, integration testing, defect fixing, andimplementation support.

Requirements

• 5+years of hands-on experience in AS400/IBM i application development andsupport.
  
• Strongexperience with RPG/400, RPG IV, RPGLE or ILE RPG, including free-formatRPG.
  
• Hands-onexperience with CL/400 or CLLE, SQL/400 or SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400.
  
• Experiencein application analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, maintenance, andproduction support.
  
• Workingknowledge of IBM i development utilities and tools such as PDM, SEU, SDA, RLU,DFU, or RDi.
  
• Understandingof subfiles, display files, printer files, data structures, data areas, batchjobs, and job monitoring.
