Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging ICSE/ISC Visual Arts lessons that inspire student creativity, curiosity, and artistic excellence.
  • Guide students in developing conceptual understanding, practical techniques, and a personal artistic voice.
  • Encourage students to explore design thinking, material exploration and the development of original products and artworks.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Prepare students for various inter-school and other art competitions and exhibitions.
  • Organise art and design exhibitions, workshops, and school-wide creative initiatives.
  • Curate high-quality displays that celebrate student achievement across the school.
  • Support school productions through set design, props, stage work, and other creative contributions, where appropriate.
  • Stay updated on contemporary art trends and practices to keep lessons fresh, relevant, and engaging.
  • Maintain an inspiring, safe, and productive art studio environment.
  • Undertake essential administrative responsibilities, including lesson planning, maintaining student and departmental records, inventory management, budgeting and processing bills/invoices for art materials and supplies.
  • Demonstrate professionalism through reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to creating a positive, inclusive and respectful learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts / Visual Arts (4-year degree) and Master of Fine Arts / Visual Arts (2-year degree) from a recognised university.
  • A B.Ed. qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Strong foundation in traditional and contemporary art and design techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to engage effectively with all stakeholders.
  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a recognised school or institution is preferred. Boarding school experience will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of or experience in sculpture/ceramics/ graphic design/ product design will be an added advantage.
