Job summary

Puretech Digital-A Genesis Company in Mumbai seeks an Art Director to lead conceptual thinking and creative direction across campaigns. You will shape the big idea, set visual standards, and guide a small team to bring concepts to life.

You’ll own creative output from concept through final execution, present ideas to stakeholders, and mentor the visualizers working under you. Experience in agency or studio settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years of experience in creative design, visualization, or art direction
• Strong portfolio showing conceptual leadership
• Advanced skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects
• Strong understanding of typography, composition, color, hierarchy, branding and digital-first design
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a small creative team
• Working knowledge of AI creative tools for concepting and production
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, confident in pitching ideas
• Motion graphics, video editing, or UI/UX exposure is a plus

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize campaign ideas and set the overall visual direction
• Translate briefs into compelling creative concepts and visual narratives
• Lead brainstorming and ideation sessions; pitch multiple routes
• Set and maintain creative standards across typography, composition, layout, branding, storytelling
• Lead and mentor a small team, including Senior Visualizers
• Review and guide team output to meet creative and brand standards
• Delegate execution while guiding creative direction
• Partner with copywriters, strategists, account managers, and content teams
• Present and defend creative concepts to internal and client stakeholders
• Manage multiple projects and priorities across the team
• Explore AI-assisted workflows (Midjourney, Firefly, Runway) for ideation and rapid visuals

About The Role

We're looking for an Art Director who can lead conceptual thinking and creative direction across campaigns-someone who shapes the big idea, sets the visual standard, and guides a small team to bring it to life. You'll own creative output from concept through final execution, present ideas confidently to stakeholders, and mentor the visualizers working under you.

What You'll Do

Concept & Creative Direction (core focus)

• Conceptualize campaign ideas and set the overall visual direction
• Translate briefs into compelling creative concepts and visual narratives
• Lead brainstorming and ideation sessions; develop and pitch multiple creative routes
• Set and maintain creative standards across typography, composition, layout, branding, and storytelling

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a small team, including Senior Visualizer(s)
• Review and guide the team's output to ensure it meets creative and brand standards
• Delegate execution while staying closely involved in creative direction

Collaboration & Presentation

• Partner closely with copywriters, strategists, account managers, and content teams
• Present and defend creative concepts and design rationale to internal and client stakeholders
• Manage multiple projects and creative priorities simultaneously across the team

Innovation

• Explore AI-assisted creative workflows (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Runway, or similar) for ideation, references, and rapid visual exploration

What We're Looking For

• 4-5+ years of experience in creative design, visualization, or art direction, with demonstrated ownership of campaign concepts (agency/studio background preferred)
• A strong portfolio that clearly shows conceptual leadership - not just polished execution
• Advanced skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects
• Strong understanding of typography, composition, color, hierarchy, branding, and digital-first design
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a small creative team
• Working knowledge of AI creative tools for concepting and production
• Excellent communication and presentation skills - confident pitching ideas and defending creative decisions in the room
• Motion graphics, video editing, or UI/UX exposure is a plus
