Qualifications

• Experienced Architect with hospitality focus and proven expertise in luxury/upscale hotel projects from concept to opening.
• 12–15 years of progressive hospitality design and technical services experience.
• Minimum 8 years managing hotel development projects.
• Experience working with international hotel operators and directly with owners/developers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete design management process for hotel projects across South Asia.
• Represent RHG design throughout the lifecycle, ensuring alignment with brand standards and owner expectations.
• Review submissions from architecture, interior design, landscape, lighting, kitchen and consultants from concept to Construction Documentation.
• Ensure consistency in guest experience, operational functionality and design excellence across RHG brands.
• Coordinate design activities between owners, architects, interior designers and project teams.

The Director Design & Technical Services is responsible for leading the design management and technical coordination of hotel development, conversion, renovation and refurbishment projects across South Asia.

Acting as the Company's representative with hotel owners, consultants, contractors and international brand teams, this role ensures projects are delivered in line with Radisson Hotel Group's brand standards, commercial objectives, quality expectations, sustainability goals and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the complete design management process for new-build, conversion, renovation and refurbishment projects across South Asia.
• Represent Radisson Hotel Group throughout the design lifecycle, ensuring projects align with RHG brand standards and owner expectations.
• Review and approve architectural, interior design, landscape, lighting, kitchen and specialist consultant submissions from Concept through Design Development and Construction Documentation.
• Ensure consistency in guest experience, operational functionality and design excellence across all RHG brands.
• Work closely with RHG Global Design & Technical Services teams and hotel owners to ensure projects comply with brand standards.
• Guide owners and consultants on brand requirements throughout project execution.
• Review deviations and recommend commercially viable solutions while maintaining brand integrity.
• Support project approvals through all internal RHG governance processes.
• Coordinate all design activities between owners, architects, interior designers, consultants and project teams.
• Act as the primary design contact for internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Facilitate timely decision-making to minimise project delays.
• Ensure seamless collaboration across Development, Procurement, Operations and Pre-opening teams.
• Lead the review and approval of all interior finishes, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), OS&E and decorative elements.
• Review mood boards, mock-up rooms, sample boards and lighting concepts.
• Ensure all selections support guest experience, operational efficiency and brand positioning.
• Monitor design implementation throughout construction.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure execution complies with approved drawings and quality standards.
• Resolve technical and design-related challenges during project execution.
• Support project teams through pre-opening, snagging and handover.
• Develop technical specifications for interior finishes and FF&E.
• Promote environmentally responsible design principles across all projects.
• Provide technical advice to Development and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (Mandatory) /Design/Engineering Master's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Project Management is an advantage.
• Registered Architect preferred.

Experience

• The role requires an experienced Architect with a strong hospitality background and proven expertise in managing luxury and upscale hotel projects from concept through opening.
• 1215 years of progressive experience within hospitality design and technical services.
• Minimum 8 years managing hotel development projects.
• Experience working with international hotel operators.
• Strong experience in hotel conversions, renovations and new-build developments.
• Experience working directly with hotel owners and developers.
