Job summary

IIFL Home Finance is seeking an Area Collections Manager to lead field collection teams across the Mumbai region, driving delinquency recovery and ensuring regulatory compliance within the Collections/Recovery Department.

Responsible for formulating location-level strategies, monitoring portfolio health, and coordinating with agencies while mentoring on-field managers to improve performance and customer relationships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualification: Graduate
  • 712 years of experience in loan collections, with at least 35 years in a managerial role leading teams.
  • Experience in home loan or secured loan collections preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and supervise multiple On-Field Collection Managers across the assigned location.
  • Drive recovery performance by ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of delinquent accounts.
  • Formulate and execute collection strategies at the location level in line with organizational goals.
  • Monitor portfolio health, identify high-risk accounts, and ensure effective action plans are implemented.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, RBI guidelines, and regulatory compliance in all collection practices.
  • Coordinate with external collection agencies and vendors for recovery support.
  • Track and report performance metrics, portfolio trends, and recovery progress to Zonal/National Heads.
  • Provide regular training, mentoring, and motivation to on-field managers to enhance efficiency and professionalism.
  • Handle escalated customer issues and resolve disputes effectively to protect customer relationships and brand reputation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Legal, Risk, Sales) for resolution of complex or chronic cases and drive team performance through regular reviews and structured reporting.

Job Purpose:

The Area Collections Manager plays a key role in supporting the organizations goals by leading collections operations and driving recovery of overdue home loan accounts. Working within the Collections/Recovery Department, the role focuses on managing field teams, achieving targets, ensuring compliance, and coordinating with agencies and internal stakeholders. It is critical in reducing delinquency and minimizing losses.
