Job summary

Durus Consulting is seeking a Snowflake Architect / Senior Data Engineer in Chennai to design, develop, and deliver scalable cloud data solutions. You will work with Snowflake, Python, PySpark, SQL, data modelling, and data migration to produce robust architectures.

Role requires 10–14 years of experience and hands-on Snowflake capabilities, with collaboration across DevOps and data teams. Chennai office-based, 5 days a week, with emphasis on governance and performance.

Qualifications

• 10–14 years of experience in data engineering or data architecture.
• Strong hands-on Snowflake, SQL, Python, PySpark experience.
• Experience with data migration from on-prem/RDBMS to Snowflake.

Responsibilities

Snowflake Architect / Senior Data Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Architect / Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable cloud data solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Snowflake, Python, PySpark, SQL, data modelling, and data migration, along with good exposure to cloud platforms and data architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable end-to-end data architecture and data solutions.
• Work with clients to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design data models, data pipelines, data flows, storage, security, and access patterns.
• Develop and implement Snowflake-based data solutions following best practices.
• Work on data migration from on-premise/RDBMS systems to Snowflake.
• Design and manage incremental, batch, and streaming data loads.
• Work with Snowflake capabilities including Snowpipe, SnowSQL, Streams, roles, and security.
• Identify and resolve data pipeline and performance bottlenecks.
• Define appropriate orchestration and downstream data consumption patterns.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders.
• Establish and follow CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Ensure data governance, security, cost management, and disaster recovery considerations.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality technical deliverables.
• Create reusable frameworks and technical artifacts.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Support client UAT and resolve technical issues.
• Own end-to-end delivery and contribute to project planning and technical decisions.

Required Skills

• 714 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering / Data Architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Experience in On-premise/RDBMS to Snowflake migration.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture and capabilities.
• Experience with Snowpipe, SnowSQL, Streams, and incremental data loading.
• Strong knowledge of Data Modelling and Data Access Patterns.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Good understanding of Data Governance and DevOps practices.
• Experience working with Big Data platforms.
• Understanding of Data Virtualization.
• Knowledge of Cost Management, Infrastructure Planning, and Disaster Recovery.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• SnowPro certification/exposure is preferred.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates who have worked as a Snowflake Architect, Snowflake Data Engineer, Lead Data Engineer, Cloud Data Architect, or Snowflake Consultant with strong experience in migration and end-to-end data architecture will be preferred.
