Job summary

Responsibilities

• Define embedded firmware architecture, memory mapping, boot sequence, and control flow for storage solutions.
• Design and architect low-level drivers and protocol stacks including NVMe, NVMe-MI, PCIe, MCTP, PLDM, RDE, and AHCI.
• Lead Secure Boot, RoT, Secure Firmware Update/Attestation, and SED features aligned with standards.
• Architect sideband management over I2C, UART, VDM, and MCTP for telemetry and diagnostics.
• Collaborate with ASIC and system teams to optimize interfaces and flash memory controllers.
• Lead system-level debugging, triage complex bugs, and establish diagnostic standards.
• Drive firmware design reviews, code quality standards, and mentor staff across teams.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Firmware Architect with expertise in storage system architecture and low-level embedded software design. In this role, you will define the next‑generation architectural roadmap, security framework, and protocol stacks for high-performance SSD and storage enterprise platforms. You will collaborate closely with hardware, verification, validation, and system integration teams to bring cutting‑edge storage solutions from concept to deployment.

• Architecture & Strategy: Define overall embedded firmware architecture, memory mapping, boot sequence, and control flow for high-performance storage solutions.
• Protocol & Stack Design: Design and architect low-level drivers and upper-layer protocol stacks including NVMe, NVMe-MI, PCIe, MCTP, PLDM, RDE, and AHCI.
• Security & Platform Integrity: Lead the design and implementation of Secure Boot, Root of Trust (RoT), Secure Firmware Update/Attestation, and Self-Encrypting Drive (SED) features compliant with TCG OPAL specifications.
• Out-of-Band & In-Band Management: Architect sideband management infrastructure over I2C, UART, VDM, and MCTP bindings for platform telemetry, error reporting, and out-of-band diagnostics.
• Performance & HW/FW Co-Design: Collaborate with ASIC and system engineering teams to optimize ARM-based hardware/software interfaces, hardware acceleration engines, and flash memory controllers (SPI NOR, RAID management).
• Debugging & Analysis: Lead complex system‑level debug efforts, triage hard‑to‑reproduce platform bugs, and establish diagnostic standards using JTAG and protocol analyzers.
• Leadership & Standards: Drive firmware design reviews, code quality standards, unit testing frameworks, and mentor senior engineering staff across cross‑functional teams.
